Without fast travel, exploring the vast map of Coral Island can turn into a never-ending expedition, so here’s how to unlock it as early as possible.

Bamboo Forest Location

The Bamboo Forest, also known as Panda Sanctuary, is located to the north of the Bath House. Players can locate it at the northernmost point of the map, beyond the Starlet Elementary School. However, during the early game, the entrance will be locked, requiring the completion of an objective to unlock this region.

Near the entrance of the forest, you’ll encounter a talking Panda named Pandazen. As he roams the sanctuary area playing his flute, he attempts to communicate with you. However, you won’t be able to understand his language. It’s speculated that future updates may introduce an item to translate Pandazen’s language.

How to Access Pandazen’s Sanctuary

To unlock the Bamboo Forest, you must complete ten offerings at the Lake Temple. The night following the completion of the bundle objectives, the path to Pandazen's Sanctuary will unlock, and you’ll be notified through a short cutscene. The following day, you can traverse the path adjacent to the Bath House, heading towards the north of the map, to gain access to this new location.

It doesn’t matter in which order you complete the bundles.

In the current version of Coral Island, the Bamboo Forest doesn’t have a specific purpose beyond providing forageable materials. The primary use of this area is for bamboo shoot farming. Much like the Bath House area, the Panda Sanctuary is abundant with this plant, allowing you to return for more after they respawn.

If you’re curious, bamboo shoots are utilized in crafting bamboo pickles and popiah. However, you can also consume them as stamina-boosting edibles.
