Landfall Publishing has commented on the possibility of the recently released Content Warning being ported to PlayStation and Xbox consoles, saying it's possible but it might be a while before it happens. Content Warning was released on April Fools' Day for free for a very limited time, and is a game where players are tasked with joining their friends in filming spooky things happening in the world to become viral on SpookyTube. Thanks to the nonexistent price point very early on, the game became incredibly popular, garnering over six million downloads within a short amount of time.

This sudden spike in popularity can be seen with the number of clips that have been posted about the game, showing players goofing around or their hilarious antics from playing Content Warning with their friends. With the game having a steady player base, the game has been getting free updates to add new features to help them in their goal of recording abandoned buildings and other structures of human society. With Content Warning's rampant success on PC, there may be some fans wondering if a port of the game will be coming to other consoles, to which head of community Hanna Fogelberg commented on.

In an interview with The Loadout, Fogelberg was asked if the multiplayer co-op horror game would find a home on the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles following its breakout success. Fogelberg says it's a little too early to make a big decision such as that, but adds that Landfall Publishing would love to bring Content Warning onto consoles in the future.

Will Content Warning Come to PlayStation and Xbox?

The one thing that is currently stopping the game from being ported to consoles right now is "technical limitations" regarding how Content Warning is set up, according to Fogelberg. For the time being, the primary focus for Landfall is adding new content and fixing any bugs or glitches with the newly released game. Fogelberg notes that once Content Warning's launch period has calmed down, she states that they will investigate how to bring the game to PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

While Content Warning is currently focused on patching glitches and fixing bugs, future content is in the works. The developers have also commented on a possible VR mode. While one isn't in the works, developing one is a future possibility, which would be a good fit for Content Warning's gameplay loop and style. If Content Warning does manage to come onto the PS5 and gets a VR mode, the game would also be a good way to use the PS VR 2 peripheral. This is all just speculation, however, so fans will need to wait until Landfall formally announces plans to port Content Warning to other systems.
