Video games are great on their own, but the cherry on top is the ability to collect trophies and achievements. It just feels good to hear that little noise ding on your console and see that you completed an optional objection. People find it so satisfying that there are gamers known as trophy and achievement hunters. These players want to collect as many achievements and trophies as possible.

However, if they wanted to clear any of the games on this list then bets are that they had a very bad time. There are some games that are infamous for their difficult trophies and achievements. We are going to share ten of these games, and their most difficult achievement/trophy.

10 Metal Gear Solid 4 – Platinum Trophy

The platinum trophy is the one you get if you got every other trophy in the game. They are typically the hardest to get since it requires every prior trophy the title carries.

For Metal Gear Solid 4, platinuming it was near impossible due to a number of difficult trophies the game had. A major one was unlocking all the games' weapons. While that may seem simple at first, players realized it was incredibly hard since they had to collect all emblems which each had requirements of their own. The most difficult emblem is the Big Boss one, which required players to play on the highest difficulty while not killing any guards, not alerting any guards, not using items, having continues, and having to do it all in five hours. That's way crazy, especially considering the cutscenes are so long.

9 Limbo – No Point in Dying

This achievement asks the player to not die in a game that throws everything at you to kill you. But what else can you expect when playing a child exploring the edge of Hell? Limbo is a platformer game full challenges where you are bound die a lot. It guarantees death through having you die by unpredictable consequences. Well, to complete this hard achievement, you have to beat the entire game in one sitting and cannot die more than five times.

The only way players get this achievement is by playing sections of the game over and over to practice. You have to know what will kill you and when.

8 Rock Band 2 - The Bladder Of Steel Award

This achievement is hilariously named and pretty true to what the player has to put themselves through. In order to get the achievement, players have to do the Endless Setlist 2 without pausing or failing a song. That's all well and good until you realize that Endless Setlist 2 takes about six and a half hours to complete. That means you are trapped in one spot for six and a half hours.

The best advice we can give is to invite extra friends over and complete it together. You do not have to hold your bladder if you can switch quickly with a friend for a break.

7 Bloodborne - Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen

Bloodborne is just a plain hard game, so of course, it made it onto our list. For players who are hungry for even more difficulty, look no further than the Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen trophy.

It is an optional boss, and the journey is just as hard if not harder than the boss fight itself. You have to go through seven different dungeons that are basically labyrinths with multiple floors. The deeper you go, the more difficult the enemies get. On the bright side, the rewards get better as you go deeper into the dungeons as well.

6 Goat Simulator- The Flapmaster

In 2013, an incredibly difficult app game called Flappy Bird was released. It was a sensation for a while due to how hard it was, and then quickly forgotten about. Well, Goat Simulator didn't forget.

This achievement requires you to find the Goat Simulator spoof version of Flappy Bird. Yes, it is a game within a game and the physics make it feel impossible to complete. The achievement asks you to score 10 points in the spoof game. Amazingly, 10 points is actually a lot to ask for. It is way more difficult than the infamous app that it is based on.

5 Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter - World Champion

When they say "world champion" in the achievement title, they actually mean it. You have to be the best player in the entire world. We are not kidding.

This achievement is based on leaderboard scores and you have to be at the very top. It is not a leaderboard for best in town, best in group, or even best in the nation. It is worldwide.  Can you take on the world?

4 Mortal Kombat - My Kung Fu Is Stronger

The description for this achievement just says, "gain mastery of all fighters," but what does that really mean? Well, there are 27 total fighters. For EACH of them you need to get 100 victories, 100 fatalities, 150 x-rays, spill 10,000 pints of blood, and play as the character for a total of 24 hours.  So if you want this achievement, you need to really love playing this game because 27 characters times 24 hours each is 648 hours of gameplay!

There are players who have cheated to get this trophy. Even if you do cheat your way through though, it is still a huge time investment.

3 Demon’s Souls – Soldier’s Trophy

This trophy is hard for some of the same reasons the Metal Gear Sold 4 platinum trophy is hard. You have to collect all the weapons and sub-weapons this game has to offer if you want the Soldier's Trophy.

The issue is that a lot of these can only be crafted once you leveled up several other weapons to their highest, and that is a lot of work. It does not help that this game is just plain difficult without trophies involved.

2 Dead Rising - 7 Day Survivor

To get this achievement, you are going to be under a lot of stress. You have to play in Infinity Mode and that mode makes it so your health bar gradually lowers and you have to eat food to replenish it. One issue though, food does not respawn. That is where the most stress comes in, because you need to stay alive while killing enemies with the hope that they drop food.

Also, you cannot save the game and this takes about 14 hours to do.

1 Max Payne 3 - The Shadows Rushed Me

This achievement is completed only if you beat the game in a tight time limit in one sitting without a single save or death. If you die, you have to start all over.

That means if you reach the last chapter and somehow die, then you might have just wasted eight hours of your life. Now that is an understandable moment to rage-quit a game.
