The Fallout franchise is having a bit of a moment right now. While Fallout has always been a popular series, even long before Bethesda took over the IP rights, the last few months have brought a wealth of new fans to the post-apocalyptic franchise, and it's all thanks to the show. Dropped all at once back in April, Amazon's live-action Fallout show was an unprecedented success for both the streaming service and the franchise itself, and following its great reception Fallout hype is at an all-time high.

But while new Fallout fans have a rather extensive back-catalog of games to play through, long-time fans have been left with no new Fallout video game experiences, with Fallout 5 still likely many years away and the rumored Fallout 3 remaster/remake being nowhere in sight. In times like this, fans are forced to seek their Fallout fix elsewhere, and thankfully, Call of Duty and Fortnite have some crossover content fans can dive into.

Comparing Call of Duty and Fortnite's Fallout Crossovers

Every Item Included in Call of Duty and Fortnite's Fallout Crossovers

Back at the end of May, Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 3 update landed, and Fallout fans were treated to the beginnings of a season-long collaboration between the two juggernaut gaming brands. In the current Chapter 5 Season 3 Battle Pass, players can unlock a total of 13 Fallout-themed cosmetics:

  • T-60 Power Armor Loading Screen
  • Pip Bling Weapon Wrap
  • Assaultron Blade
  • Pip-Boy Back Bling
  • Pip-Boy Banner Icon
  • T-60 Power Armor
  • Hot Rod T-60 Power Armor Loading Screen
  • Codsworth's Cleanup Emote
  • Vault Boy! Emoticon
  • West-Tek Wings Glider
  • Hot Rod Pip-Boy Back Bling
  • Hot Rod T-60 Power Armor
  • Black and Red T-60 Power Armor

Of course, the main draw of the Fortnite x Fallout collaboration is the three T-60 Power Armor skins, each one giving the iconic hulking suit a different paint job. Though they're a little oversized, the Pip-Boy Back Blings are also a nice addition, reacting to the player's various stats throughout the match such as their kill count. It's a bit of a missed opportunity that no Vault Dweller skins are present in the crossover, but there's always room for them to be added to the Fortnite Shop at a later date. All players can also use Nuka-Cola and Tri-Beam Laser Rifle items during Fortnite's battle royale modes.

On June 20, Call of Duty delivered its own Fallout crossover. Available in its very own Tracer Pack, the Call of Duty x Fallout collaboration brings with it a total of 18 unique cosmetic items:

  • Vault 141 Price Skin
  • Vault 141 Ghost Skin
  • Vault 141 Soap Skin
  • Vault 141 Gaz Skin
  • Vault-Tec Approved M16 Blueprint
  • Atomic Disintegrator HRM-9 Blueprint
  • Vault-Tec Engineer Emblem
  • You're Special Decal
  • Nuka-Cola Spacer Sticker
  • Let's Do This (Ghost Vault Boy) Charm
  • Fatman Charm
  • Restoring Democracy Loading Screen
  • Sanctuary Hills Loading Screen
  • Wasteland Workshop Calling Card
  • Vault 141 Loading Screen
  • Nuka Cola Loading Screen
  • Please Stand By Loading Screen
  • Survivor's Journey Loading Screen

Much like the Fortnite x Fallout collaboration, the main draw of the current Call of Duty x Fallout crossover is its uniquely-themed skins, depicting the four core members of Task Force 141 as Vault Dwellers. The two unique Fallout-themed weapon Blueprints are also a good reason to pick up the Tracer Pack, giving both the M16 and the HRM-9 a complete visual makeover. Unfortunately, the vast majority of this Tracer Pack is filled with loading screens, many of which look like simple promo shots from Fallout 4's pre-release marketing.

Call of Duty also hosted a Fallout event between June 20 and June 26 that allowed players across Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 to grab a few themed cosmetics by completing specific challenges.

How Players Access Call of Duty and Fortnite's Fallout Crossovers

While all players can use Fortnite's Tri-Beam Laser Rifle and Nuka-Cola in-game items, they'll need to buy the Chapter 5 Season 3 Battle Pass if they want any of the cosmetics listed above. This will set players back the usual 950 V-Bucks, which is roughly equal to about $10, though, of course, they'll also gain access to a range of other skins that aren't Fallout-themed, including a Magneto skin later this season.

Though Call of Duty's Tracer Packs have always been more expensive than Fortnite's Battle Pass, this Fallout-themed bundle is even more expensive than usual. To get all of the Call of Duty x Fallout cosmetics listed above, players will need to fork out an eye-watering 2800 COD Points, which is roughly equal to $25.
