Now that the Community movie that fans have been pining for has come to fruition, two of the show's actors, Danny Pudi and Alison Brie, are doing everything in their power to ensure that they can get to making the movie as quickly as possible by making their schedules as open as can be.

Pudi and Brie confirmed that they have tried to open up their schedules this year, so they will be available to film the upcoming Community movie that was greenlit towards the end of last year.

Pudi and Brie went into detail about what they've done in preparation for the upcoming Community movie. Brie confirmed to Variety that "she hopes the film shoots this year." So much so that, in Brie's words, “I’m clearing that schedule." According to Variety, "Pudi agreed, saying 'it looks likely this year. Right now, it’s just the timing.'" The two of them spoke with the outlet after they collaborated again in a film called Somebody That I Used to Know, which a fair number of Community fans will be sure to watch and was directed by Brie's husband, Dave Franco.

Brie and Pudi played Annie Edison and Abed Nadir, respectively, for the entirety of Community's run from 2009 to 2015. During the show's earlier seasons, the two showed solid chemistry, though the show did not depend on their dynamic as much as the others, like Abed's relationship with Troy or Annie's relationship with Jeff. However, following the departure of Donald Glover, the show then decided to rely more on Brie's and Pudi's chemistry in Glover's absence, which proved to be a smart move, though Glover's absence, in general, hurt the show overall because of how well Troy meshed with everyone.

Their efforts to open up their schedules show how devoted they are to living up to the #SixSeasonsAndAMovie moniker. Community served as Brie's and Pudi's big break into Hollywood in 2009. Since the show's ending, both have stayed relevant in popular projects, but both have made it clear for years now how much they loved their time on Community despite the show having a timeshare in bad ratings. It makes sense that they would do everything in their power to revisit the one show that made them the stars they are today.

Best of all, it seems like this is what almost everyone from the original cast has been looking forward to for years. Joel McHale called getting a Community movie greenlit a "dream come true." Dan Harmon has provided little tidbits of information over the years regarding where the movie was at. Since it's been announced, everyone from the original cast, minus Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase, has signed on to be in it. Not only is the Community movie a thing, but it's a thing that's coming closer and closer by the day.

The Community movie will be streamed on Peacock.
