While fans of the NBC sitcom Community wait with bated breath for any news of a Community movie, many of them have been busy developing Greendale-centric content of their own. One such project is the online arena shooter 6 Seasons and a Game, which is available for free on Steam.

The paintball game puts players in control of one of Greendale's alumni and drops them in a map of the college campus to battle other Greendalians in Modern Warfare style paintball carnage. Word of the game has spread rapidly, and while fan projects for other properties tend to get shut down by studios and creators, people involved with the Community tv show are actually sharing the trailer for 6 Seasons and a Game on Twitter.

Joel McHale, who played Jeff Winger in all six seasons of the beloved show re-tweeted a post from the 6 Seasons and a Game account and added, "Holy crap!" Darsan Solomon, the actor who played Dave, Greendale's most attractive student, also got in on the action, replying to McHale's tweet with, "This makes me think about a Greendale map in Splatoon. This is pretty cool!"

The trailer shows off the impressively re-created Greendale campus and provides glimpses at several Easter eggs that reference specific moments from the show's run. There are a lot of great video game Easter eggs out there, but the hidden gems in 6 Seasons and a Game are truly next level.

The trailer shows movie posters for pretend films like Dean Hard, and there are many, many more winks and nods to different episodes of the show waiting to be discovered by players. Community is often featured on lists of the best tv episodes, and now with 6 Seasons and a Game, it may just find its way onto lists of the best fan-made games.

6 Seasons and a Game is available now on Steam.
