Inkulinati is a turn-based indie strategy game that has captured the hearts and minds of players everywhere. Each chapter in the game is filled with environmental objects and enemies that must be eliminated in order to win the game.

The strategy game is inspired by events that havetaken place during medieval periods, and urges people to move units on a manuscript to claim victory. Players can draw beasts armed with all kinds of weapons to defend their Tiny-Inkulinati on various levels. These animals provide hours of humor with their attack animations to entertain players. Here are a few common mistakes gamers can avoid while playing Inkulinati.

10 Forgetting About One-Hit Enemies

Player knocks out an enemy with one hit

The most common mistake people make when playing Inkulinati is mistiming their hits. A lot of battles in the strategy game can be won with one hit by reaching the right number on the slider. Players need to hit the attack button after the slider hovers over the death symbol to kill an enemy with a single hit.

Creatures like the Bow-Wielding Dogs and Sword-Wielding Rabbits can easily be killed with one hit since they have less than 10 health. Players who require more than one hit to kill weak enemies might be hit with a counterattack from enemy units in Inkulinati.

9 Keeping The Camera Stationary

Player finds more targets by moving the camera

Many people who enjoy playing turn-based games stick to using a few basic actions to control the units on the manuscript. These units can be drawn on to the manuscript at any time to defend the Tiny-Inkulinati from potential threats and dangerous beasts in each chapter.

A good strategy to use in Inkulinati is to move the camera around. Players can use the arrow keys to reposition the camera before moving the units to attack enemies in the game. Moving the camera will make more possibilities appear onscreen and allow players to plan their attacks. Keeping it in one place limits what players can do.

8 Ranged Attacks Can Pass Through Levels

Player shoots an arrow to hit an enemy on a lower level

Certain chapters in Inkulinati have different levels established on the manuscript. Melee units, such as the Sword-Wielding Dog might have to use a ladder to move up and down between levels to attack enemy units.

Players can use ranged units, such as the Bow-Wielding Dog, to strike enemy units on different levels. The units that use the bow and arrow as a weapon can hit enemies with precision to kill them before the enemy units have a chance to reach the Tiny-Inkulinati.

7 Ignoring Apocalyptic Fire

Player moves out of the way of Apocalyptic Fire

Inkulinati has several features that make it outstanding for beginners. Apocalyptic Fire is one such aspect. This combat mechanism enters a chapter after the player completes 5 turns. The corners of the manuscript are blazed by dark shrubs that are drawn to deal damage to units.

Any unit that stands in the position where the Apocalyptic Fire is drawn will take damage over time. These flames can grow inch by inch and take over the manuscript if players don’t finish the level within a few turns. Apocalyptic Fire can also instantly kill the Tiny-Inkulinati, so don't ignore it when it starts to appear.

6 Not Unlocking New Beasts Early

Player unlocks a Pitchfork-Wielding Creature

Inkulinati presents a wide range of units that can be controlled to eliminate enemies. Players can start the game with up to three different units to strike enemies on the manuscript. They can unlock new beasts that can be drawn on a level by progressing through the Campaign mode.

These new beasts can be acquired as rewards for finishing levels within certain criteria. Rewards for completing levels include new beasts, such as the Bishop-Like Creature and the Pitchfork-Wielding Creature. Some of these creatures require as much as 8 Living Ink to draw.

5 Not Studying The Units Of The Master

Player finds out more information about the Master's beasts

Players can face the Master for a duel after completing a few chapters in the Campaign mode. The Master has up to four different units that have to be mitigated to defeat him in Inkulinati. These units include the Cook Exploder, Bean Exploder, Hat Exploder, and the Jaw Exploder.

The Cook Exploder has 10 health, the Bean Exploder has 8 health, the Hat Exploder has 9 health, and the Jaw Exploder has 10 health. The best strategy players can use is taking out the Cook Exploder within a few attacks. The Cook Exploder will drop Living Ink upon death.

4 Boring The Scribers

Player prevents his Scribers from getting bored by placing different types of units

The scribers that draw the units onto the manuscript get bored easily. Drawing the same kind of unit multiple times in a chapter can increase their Boredom level. The Living Ink required to draw new units will increase once the scriber is bored.

Players can avoid boring the scribers by drawing three different types of units in each chapter. Try a combination of melee and ranged units to gain a tactical advantage. These units can help players defeat their opponents faster during battles.

3 Not Providing Halos To Units

Player provides a Halo to a unit

A wide array of units can be unlocked for players in Inkulinati. These units can be provided with a Halo to strengthen their attacks. Certain units can be equipped with multiple Halos to give them bonus damage and accuracy during the game. Don't ignore this mechanic; be sure to take advantage of it.

Most units can have up to three halos. Applying a Halo to a unit will remove Heresy, decreasing the amount of damage taken from enemy attacks. Players must prevent their units with Halos from taking a nap, as this decreases the number of Halos by 1.

2 Forgetting To Utilize Corners

Player pushes an enemy off a corner for instant kill

Loads of people who play Inkulinati get used to using physical attacks from their units to obliterate their enemies. Physical attacks can deal anywhere from 4 to 10 damage to enemy units per hit.

However, another effective strategy to use against enemy units in the turn-based game is to push enemy units off of corners. Certain chapters have multiple levels, allowing players to push enemy units off of higher levels for instant kills. Players can lure enemy units to a corner by moving the Tiny-Inkulinati around.

1 Forgetting To Use Hand Actions Frequently

Player unlocks new Hand Actions to ease the game

Beginners tend to make the mistake of skipping Hand Actions during combat in Inkulinati. These Hand Actions can be used to perform various actions, such as, drawing objects on the manuscript and putting enemy units to sleep.

Players can use Hand Actions to draw a barrel to prevent enemy units from moving closer to the Tiny-Inkulinati. They can summon a Small Pot of Beans that can explode, dealing damage to surrounding enemy units in the game using Hand Actions. Putting units to sleep with Hand Actions will prevent them from moving or attacking till the next chapter.

Released on January 31, 2023, Inkulinati can be played on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
