EA Sports has released a Gameplay Deep Dive for College Football 25, giving fans their most comprehensive look yet at how the game will work when it launches on July 19. College football fans have been waiting over a decade for a new college football game, with copies of the last game in the series, NCAA Football 14, going for ridiculous prices online. Soon, the wait for a brand-new college football experience will be over thanks to EA Sports College Football 25.

Developed by EA Orlando, EA Sports College Football 25 is specifically targeting new-gen consoles, with some of the popular features from the NCAA series carrying over. Fan favorite features like Dynasty and Road to Glory are making a comeback, so the experience should be familiar to longtime fans, but with major enhancements that take advantage of the horsepower behind the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. The new Gameplay Deep Dive, hosted by Ohio State's Kirk Herbstreit, shows off just what else fans can expect from College Football 25.

New Report Could Be Bad News for EA Sports College Football 25 Fans

Ahead of its highly anticipated release, new information about EA Sports College Football 25 leaks, and there may be bad news for fans.

One of the major new features discussed in the College Football 25 Gameplay Deep Dive is Wear and Tear. The idea behind Wear and Tear is that it gives College Football 25 "an unprecedented level of realism" that is meant to mimic "the real-world effects of fatigue and damage" on college football players. The example given by EA is that if a College Football 25 quarterback's arm is damaged during a game, they will take a hit to their throwing ability. The damage done in any given College Football 25 game will carry over to the following week when playing game modes like Dynasty, so Wear and Tear will add an extra layer of strategy to the proceedings.

Wear and Tear isn't the only thing that can have a major impact on how a College Football 25 game plays out. College Football 25 will also be introducing a Home Field Advantage feature that will make it so the home team genuinely has an advantage through modifiers that impact gameplay. Notably, College Football 25 is bringing back a classic featurefrom NCAA Football '06 with the screen shake, governed by the Stadium Pulse Meter. Using the right stick, players can encourage the crowd to "Get Louder," which will shake the screen and give the home team an even greater advantage.

On paper, some of these new features in EA Sports College Football 25 sound risky, but they could also pay off and create a more immersive college football experience. Fans will find out for themselves when the EA Sports College Football 25 release date rolls around on July 19.
