College Football 25 is reviving the beloved football franchise that has been lying dormant, and the Road to Glory mode is getting a major change by skipping over high school football. Along with Road to Glory missing this feature, there are changes in College Football 25 that have been featured in previous entries.

There hasn't been a College Football game since 2013, with EA's NCAA Football 14, and the long-awaited successor got a major reveal just a few weeks ago. College Football 25 is set to be a major release for the summer, and many longtime fans have been eager to experience the first entry in the series that actually features real-life student athletes in-game. The features in College Football 25 promise the return of some fan-favorite modes, like Road to Glory, but with some changes.

College Football 25 Includes Important Feature

EA Sports College Football 25 will include a popular feature on Xbox consoles and possibly PlayStation 5 as well.

Despite the return of Road to Glory, the mode will skip over a portion of the feature by no longer showing a player's character at the prep level. In the past, Road to Glory would have players start their characters off for a short season in high school before going off to college to begin their careers. However, College Football 25 will have players choose their characters' stats and have them immediately start in college.

College Football 25 Changing Road to Glory Mode

The recent reveal of this change has been met with some mixed feedback. There are many longtime fans of the franchise who love playing Road to Glory in order to see their character progress through high school into the collegiate level. There hasn't been any clear reason given as to why this popular detail of Road to Glory has been changed, but it's an interesting difference. Another missing mode from College Football 25 is the Mascot mode, which lets players play games as their favorite school's mascot. Dynasty mode seems to be the same for the most part, but players won't be able to export their draft classes over to Madden NFL Football 25.

Removing an important part of Road to Glory is a surprising move on EA's part. With College Football 25 also skipping a PC release, there have been some interesting choices made so far with the game. However, it's still exciting to see the College Football franchise continue after such a long hiatus. College Football 25's release date of July 19 is drawing closer, and once the game launches, the Road to Glory mode hopefully won't feel too empty without the high school backstory.
