Players booting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the first time after the Season 1 update may encounter a frankly horrifying update alert - notifying players that all progress has been lost and must be reset. Especially for those who have put in the effort to complete the four weeks of pre-season challenges to unlock the golden river camo, along with anyone who has quickly maxed out their player level and reached level 55, this can be a heartbreaking error code to receive. Do not fret, as the resolution to such a disastrous error code is much simpler than players may assume.

Resolving the NIAMEY-LOGAN Error Code

When players attempt to load the Call of Duty HQ, they may encounter the NIAMEY-LOGAN error code when attempting to connect to online services. Along with the error code, players will receive a message stating that saved data was corrupted and progress will be entirely reset. Players will only be allowed to agree to the progress reset or to play and continue progress offline - neither of which is a desired outcome for players. Players can simply agree, without worry, and continue to connect to online services.

Players will not lose all online progress when agreeing to the error code, although there will be some small data losses - any players with an active tombstone from a previous zombies game will no longer be able to access the grave site left behind by a previous death with the Tombstone perk. Unfortunately, this in-game data was lost on the integration of the Season 1 updates. However, players can still expect to find all their weapons and player-level progress maintained even after receiving the NIAMEY-LOGAN error.

While this loss may be devastating to zombies players, any weapon camos and experience will be maintained, allowing players to gear up with their favorite weapons and quickly regain their favorite gear from a deployment to Urzikstan.
