Cobra Kai is ready for one last dance, as Netflix confirmed the Karate Kid spinoff was renewed for a sixth and final season soon, which will hardly come as a surprise considering how successful the show has been.

Initially a YouTube Red production, Cobra Kai's first two seasons were not Netflix originals. However, in the summer of 2020, the teen dramedy series moved to the streaming giant, where it got a massive boost in popularity that turned it into some of the most reliable content for Netflix. Since then, three more Cobra Kai seasons have been released, and with rumors of more Karate Kid universe content making rounds, it looks like Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz are ready to wrap things up.

With that in mind, Netflix dropped a Cobra Kai final season teaser that features dialogue from Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso. The two characters ask the audience to tune in for the series' biggest and baddest season yet, with the question, “Do you have one more fight left in you?” The clip quickly got thousands of likes, and although no estimated release date was included at this stage, the announcement mentions that Cobra Kai's sixth chapter will come soon.

The Cobra Kai showrunners also released a statement thanking fans for their support. While no new footage is included in the video, Cobra Kai fans already know what it's store after season 5 ended with Johnny, Daniel, and their students finally bringing down Terry Silver in what has undoubtedly been the show’s most exuberant showcase of karate action. The promise of Cobra Kai raising the stakes one more time should seem unlikely if not for the season 5 cliffhanger that saw John Kreese escape prison.

Cobra Kai season 5 wowed most viewers. The series momentarily held a perfect 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and eclipsed past entries on most review aggregators in the eyes of its fan base. As for the actual release date, last year Netflix abandoned its two-year tradition of dropping Cobra Kai around the New Year celebrations. Despite season 5 only coming out in September, “coming soon” could mean the season 6 premiere is scheduled before summer.

Besides having Kreese as its main villain, Cobra Kai still owes Tory Nichols, Anthony LaRusso, and Kenny Payne a lot. However, after nearly four decades, many could find saying their goodbyes to Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso an emotional ride they're not ready for.

Cobra Kai seasons 1-5- are now available on Netflix.
