It is a near-impossible task to stick to the virtuous lane while navigating through the treacherous cut-throat facility of Koudo Ikusei Senior High School. With an academic system that seems to reward selfish and underhanded tactics, evil human nature gets every opportunity to come out and play in Classroom of the Elite on Crunchyroll.

Bad attitudes are so commonplace at this esteemed institution that people begin to get suspicious of certain happy-go-lucky characters, such as Honami Ichinose, just for being too nice! This article will refer to Seasons 1 and 2 of Classroom of the Elite only, therefore excluding details and spoilers from the Light Novel series.

8 Kiyotaka Ayanokoji

Ayanokoji is essentially the main protagonist and has a substantial following within Classroom of the Elite's fandom, however, he is not exactly the ideal role model. His harsh logical assessments of people and situations regularly come off as cold and abrasive, leaving little room for Ayanokijo to maneuver into the nice-guy category.

It takes a great deal of convincing to persuade this extremely talented student to apply himself during assessments, as Ayanokoji is more concerned with blending into the crowd than gaining attention for a job well done. However, he is responsible for much of Class D's overall success, whether directly or by guiding Suzune down the right path.

7 Sae Chabashira

Classroom of the Elite Social Darwinism School system Sae Chabashira Class 1 D

Even though Ms. Chabashira adds a significant amount of sex appeal to the show, her attractive qualities aren't skin deep and are poorly mismatched alongside her abrasive, self-serving personality. She does very little in assisting the students under her care, and one could even say she has tried to sabotage Class D by purposefully withholding information.

Sae uses her status as a teacher to manipulate her students, going so far as to feed Ayanokijo manipulative lies in an attempt to control him. Sure, she dreams of seeing Class D ascend to Class A's position, but that has more to do with her subsequent bragging rights and is less concerned with her students' individual success.

6 Shiho Manabe

Classroom of the Elite Destestable Characters Shiho Manabe Class C bully

Shiho Manabe is a wannabe heroine, pretending to stand up for her friend, Rika Morofuji, but using the alleged incident with Kei Karuizawa as an excuse to spread violence instead. Even if Kei purposefully pushed Rika for whatever reason, the timid girl clearly wasn't badly injured, whereas Kei cannot share those same sentiments.

After tormenting Kei for days, Manabe eventually loses her leverage and subsequently becomes a pawn for Ryuen during the Uninhabited Island Exam. In her defense, Manabe is being blackmailed, and the whole situation is a result of her sinister actions, which grants her a well-deserved fate in the end.

5 Manabu Horikita

Classroom of the Elite Destestable Characters Manabu Horikita Suzune's brother Student Council President

Manabu Horikita evidently skipped out on his big brother training during childhood, as he seems to possess remarkably limited protective instincts when it comes to his baby sister. It's tough love all the way for poor Suzune, who is regularly the victim of his brutal (sometimes violent) lessons and knows better than to rely on her brother for help.

Manabu seems to be well aware of the fact that Ken Sudo was being framed in Season 1 but was willing to allow the "innocent" young man to be expelled. He picks and chooses which school rules to follow depending on his ideals, and, as the School Council President, who exactly is going to stop him?

4 Ken Sudō

The bull-headed jock of Class D certainly knows how to create a disturbance, as his overly aggressive attitude sets him off on numerous occasions, making him an easy target for Ryuen's taunts. Ken Sudo makes it very clear early on that he is not attending Koudo Ikusei to make friends, which influences a following of anti-social classmates, creating further division between the group.

While he may excel on the sports field, Sudo is the weakest student academically (from Class D) and makes little effort to rectify this, which subsequently brings the whole class average down. Sudo is rude, arrogant, and overall quite an unlikeable character, although he does start to show more admirable qualities as the storyline progresses.

3 Rokusuke Kōenji

koenji rokusuke

The ultimate narcissist will take any opportunity to emphasize his superior physique, bone structure, hair, and fashion sense. In a school that celebrates egocentrism, Koenji still manages to take ownership of a top spot, with his ranking fueled even further by his utter selfishness.

As can be seen during the confrontation between Kenji and Ryuen in Season 2 Episode 11, this blonde boy is anything but a bimbo and possessed a higher skill level than he is willing to let on. Regardless of his advantageous attributes, Koenji refuses to participate or assist in many vital school assessments, to the great detriment of Class D.

2 Ryuen Kakeru

ryuen kakeru

This red-headed egotist is essentially the Big Bad of the school, or at least, he thinks he is! As the leader of Class C, Ryuen is known best for his violent, intimidation tactics and for being the biggest bully around. He is not afraid to hurt his teammates for the sake of reaching his goals, such as in Mio Ibuki or Saki Yamashita's case.

Ryuen rarely gets his own hands dirty and had a posse of henchmen and minions to get the job done. Not everyone in Class C winningly goes along with his vicious schemes, but they also don't exactly get a choice under his tyrannous reign.

1 Kikyō Kushida

Ryuen may be the most brutal bully at Koudo Ikusei, but at least his fellow students know exactly what they are dealing with! There is nothing less admirable than a two-faced manipulator who goes out of their way to destroy people, for essentially no valid reason whatsoever.

Whether or not Kikyo has the best interest of Class D at heart or not is debatable, as her underhanded schemes are specifically targeted at Suzune and Ayanokiji, but negatively affect the class as a whole. She spends much of her time attempting to boost their rankings but is willing to throw any progress away if it means taking her rivals down. Kikyo's supporters would likely change their tune if they knew exactly who they were dealing with. Sabotaging one's so-called allies while demanding that everyone be friends is about as detestable as one gets.
