Clash Royale introduced the game mode 2 versus 2 in 2017 and quickly gained popularity for its fun and fresh change without taking away from the fun of standard 1v1 style gameplay. If players return from a long hiatus, they may struggle to locate the 2v2 game mode. When playing this mode, players will find that they don't receive gold or chest from winning and receive season tokens now. When playing 2v2, players can also queue up with friends or random players.

How to Play 2v2 in Clash Royale

2v2 clan

As mentioned before, there are two places where 2v2 can be played. The first would be in the events tab in the bottom right corner. It may be tough to spot at first, but there are two king statues with small text underneath reading 2v2. Tapping on this icon will bring up a menu for players to prepare for a quick match or play with friends.

An invitation can also be sent to clan members to play as well. For a friendly 2v2 among clan members, an invitation for three other clan members can be found on the purple friendly battle button. When playing 2v2 against random opponents, season tokens are earned through elixir spent and the towers they destroy and defend.

How to Play Classic 1v1 in Clash Royale

This game mode allows Clash Royale fans to play for the same season token rewards as 2v2 and the event game mode. The perk of this game mode is that, like the other modes, all cards and towers are evened out to level 11. Evolution cards are available for use, and standard rules are used for a good old-fashioned match for players who want to earn season tokens and may not find the different conditions of events and 2v2 appealing. The rates for season tokens are the same in this game mode as the event and 2v2.

Clash Royale is available on mobile devices.
