Manage Сitizens

In order for players to begin their journey to prosperous population growth, they must begin by selecting the city they wish to start with. Click on the city and navigate to the Manage Citizens icon located in the lower right corner of the screen. Here, one can access the city screen and options for managing its citizens.

Focus on Food

The availability of food primarily drives population growth. So ensure that cities have access to a steady supply of food. This can be achieved through various means, such as working tiles with food resources (e.g., wheat, rice), building farms, fishing boats, trading posts on bonus resources, and constructing improvements like Granaries and Water Mills that provide additional food.

Increase the Housing Capacity

Housing is another crucial factor for population growth. Each city has a maximum housing capacity that determines how large the population can be.

Constructing buildings like Granaries, Aqueducts, and Sewers can increase housing capacity. Also, settling near rivers or constructing certain wonders can provide additional housing.

Chooce the Right Policies and Civics

Players must Pay attention to the policies and civics they choose. Policies like Agrarianism and Feudal Contract can boost food production and population growth, while Civil Service and Urbanization unlock buildings and improvements that also help the population to grow.

Religion

If players have founded a religion, consider choosing beliefs that provide bonuses to population growth or housing. For example, the Feed the World belief provides extra food, helping cities grow faster.

Settle in Fertile Areas

When founding new cities, consider settling in locations with high natural fertility. These areas usually have abundant food resources, rivers, or coastal tiles that offer extra food and housing bonuses. Such locations will help players' cities grow faster.

Amenities

A civilization with sufficient amenities tends to experience higher population growth. Construct Entertainment Complexes and Stadiums to provide amenities to players' cities. Players can also obtain amenities through luxury resources, trade routes, and certain policy cards.

Civilization 6 is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
