With six different ways to achieve victory in Civilization 6, players have a ton of options in front of them when the game starts. For newer players, the path of Science is widely regarded as one of the more easier ways to win especially for those who select Seondeok of Korea who was added to the game in the Rise and Fall expansion.

When choosing the path of Science, players will want to focus on the Technology Tree and advancing nearly through the entire thing while also preparing for space travel. Naturally, Great Scientists should also be a major part of the plan as each are dedicated to advancing science and technology. Civ 6 has quite a few Great Scientists in each of the eras, each with their own powerful bonus, so knowing who to go for can be a bit of a challenge, especially for newer players.

Hypatia

One of the first Great Sciences that players will come across is Hypatia of the Classical Era. Her ability is to instantly build a library in a district and all libraries already built or that will be build then provide +1 to science. Using Hypatia on an empty Campus will also save the player a bit of Production cost when building a new library.

Isaac Newton

For players in the Renaissance Era, Isaac Newton is the next Great Scientist to be on the lookout for. He pairs will with Hypatia as his ability allows the player to instantly build a library and a University in a district. In addition, all Universities, whether previously built or will be built in the future, give the player +2 Science.

Similar to Hypatia, Newton's power comes from the fact that players continue to earn +2 Science for all universities build throughout the game. With both Hypatia and Newton, players will have a significant way to generate science that largely outpaces other factions. To save on production costs, players may want to use Newton on a recently built Campus.

The Wildcards

While most veteran players would agree that Newton and Hypatia are still extremely strong thanks to their abilities, there are a couple more individuals who can be particularly strong if used under the right circumstances.

Mary Leaky becomes available in the Atomic Era and gives the player 350 science for every artifact in the city. In addition, artifacts across all of the player's cities also generate 300% more Tourism than usual. While not beneficial for all factions, England players should absolutely utilize her for the simply fact that its Archaeological Museums all have 6 slots. The tourism and science boost led themselves to those looking for Culture or Science wins.

Albert Einstein is always a solid choice, even if he's not quite as strong as the others on this list. Available in the Modern Era, Einstein gives players one random technology through the Eureka moment while giving +4 to Science for every university. Eureka moments lead to groundbreaking inventions that boost tech.
