Civilization 6 players have six different ways to attain victory: Culture, Diplomacy, Domination, Religion, and Science, and Score. Aside from Score, these are all viable victory types, but knowing which civilization and leader to pick can be a huge help.

Though players don't necessarily have to pick a win condition before starting the game, doing so can help inform the them on which of Civilization 6's civs and leaders to pick and help give direction in the early game. Of course, it is always important to be flexible as the game progresses.

It should also be said that, while some civs and leaders are geared towards certain victory conditions, every victory type is achievable by every civilization. These leaders will certainly help players get there much easier, but will not guarantee victory in any way.

Culture - Kristina of Sweden

civ 6 best culture leader

Kristina is the Swedish leader, and provides considerable bonuses for achieving a cultural victory. Obtaining a cultural victory will require players to focus on boosting their culture and tourism, and Kristina's leader ability is great for that. Any Great Work put into a building or wonder will automatically be themed, resulting in nice bonuses to Tourism. What's more, Sweden's Open Air Museum grants yet more bonuses to Tourism. Ironically, she is also a great choice for the diplomatic victory, but that award goes elsewhere.

Diplomatic - Wilfrid Laurier of Canada

Civ 6 Canada Wilfrid Laurier

Winning with diplomacy is one of the more difficult victory types, but can provide players with an engaging and cooperative way to play. This victory condition is only available in the two expansion game modes, "Rise and Fall" and "Gathering Storm." Players will need to build up diplomatic favor and use it to earn diplomatic victory points. Typically, players can only get diplomatic favor from their government, suzerainship of city-states, and alliances, but Laurier offers another way. Four Faces of Peace allows Canada to earn one diplomatic favor for every 100 tourism, and doubles diplomatic favor from completing an emergency or scored competition.

Domination - Alexander the Great of Macedonia

Alexander the Great leads Macedonia and the player to the easiest domination victories of any civ and leader. This victory condition is pretty straight forward, but can be difficult to pull of. Alexander the Great helps with that with his To the World's End ability, which heals military units to full health after they conquer a city with a wonder. Furthermore, his two unique units, the Hetairoi and Hypaspist are incredibly powerful in direct combat. There are also a lot of ways that Macedonia can continue to develop other aspects of their civilization while focusing on military might, such as its unique building.

Religious - Peter the Great of Russia

Getting a Religious Victory can be somewhat irksome, but Peter the Great of Russia makes it much easier. Russia has a unique district, the Lavra, which replaces the Holy Site district and grants double the Great Prophet points as well as costing half production to make. The key to playing Russia for a religious victory well is to hit hard early on, as Russia is very capable of developing a religion before other civs.

Science - Seondeok of Korea

best science leader civ 6

The final victory type is Science, and it is arguably the easiest win condition in Civilization 6. Like Russia, Korea excels at Science due to its unique district, the Seowon, which replaces the campus district. The Seowon grants +4 science if there are no districts built next to it, and is much cheaper than the campus as well. Players need simply focus on getting Seowon's up as soon as possible and building Science while keeping themselves safe.

Civilization 6 is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
