Contrary to popular belief, there is, indeed, bad pizza. While grabbing a slice is one of life's greatest joys, there are tons of pizza joints that don't exactly live up to the quality one would expect. During quarantine, some of those restaurants have had to turn to other methods to sell pizza, including masquerading as an entirely different brand, in the case of Chuck E. Cheese.

The children's restaurant chain, named after its anthropomorphic mouse mascot and a major inspiration for Five Nights at Freddy's, is less about the food and more about the experience, with it frequently being a spot for kids parties thanks to small stage shows and arcade games helping pass the time. However, with most restaurants shutting down or pivoting to takeout during the coronavirus pandemic, much of Chuck E Cheese's appeal seems to have vanished.

To make up for it, Chuck E. Cheese has been operating on delivery apps as Pasqually's Pizza in an attempt to make people think they were getting food from an entirely different restaurant. Pasqually is another one of Chuck E. Cheese's characters but definitely isn't well known enough to be something the typical person would pick up on.

On Twitter, reactions have been flooding in from people that ordered the pizza, some even uploading addresses listed on apps like Grubhub and Uber Eats that turn out to be Chuck E Cheese locations when plugged into Google. However, a statement released by the company addressed the situation, explaining that, while Pasqually's Pizza "shares kitchen space" with Chuck E Cheese, it is a "different pizza that features a thicker crust and extra sauce, giving consumers a more flavorful, more premium pizza experience."

Still, that hasn't stopped some from criticizing the move, calling it misleading. It certainly seems a bit suspicious, at the very least. However, the situation is weirdly reminiscent of Death Stranding's pizza delivery missions, which featured the protagonist Sam carrying pizza between different locations after a global disaster. Hopefully, the characters in Death Stranding got the artisan pizza they were expecting, though the Death Stranding equivalent of Chuck E Cheese would be interesting to see.
