The dragon feeding minigame in Chrono Cross is the key to gaining access to the interior of Viper Manor. The Manor Key is not the only reward that players can obtain through participating in this minigame, though, and it is recommended that fans at least try to claim the prize associated with feeding the dragons 40 times. This guide contains specific information on all the dragon feeding rewards in Chrono Cross, while also providing some tips on how to find success with this minigame.

Chrono Cross: Dragon Feeding Rewards

There are five different prizes, not counting the Manor Key, that can be earned from the dragon feeding minigame. The specific prize that is up for grabs is determined by a player's selection when they are asked how many times they will feed the dragons, and no reward is issued if a fan fails to hit their chosen number. Here is a full list of the dragon feeding rewards, and again the prize for 40 feedings, a helpful Chrono Cross Element, is the standout of the bunch:

Chrono Cross: How to Win Dragon Feeding Minigame

To win at this Chrono Cross minigame, players must feed the dragons the selected-number of times before they fail to feed a single dragon four times. For full clarity, these creatures will cry when they wish to be fed, and not feeding a dragon before its crying ends is considered one failure. These failures are visualized as the unfed dragon becoming increasingly red in color, and here are some tips that players that are struggling with the minigame can try:

  • Always Have Three Food: The food that is used to feed the dragons is collected by moving Serge all the way to the left and pressing the interact button. This Chrono Cross character can carry three food at one time, and players should make sure that they are refilling to that limit any time that they are not actively feeding a dragon.
  • Move and Spam Interact: In general, it is recommended that players continuously move left and right while spamming the interact button. While fans can try to be a bit more targeted with their feedings, continuous movement tends to work just fine.
  • Stop on the Fourth Dragon: If Serge has three food and no dragons are crying, players can wait in front of the fourth dragon. From this position, classic JRPG fans can easily reach the fourth and fifth dragon, while also having the ability to feed the first, second, and third dragons on their way to refill.
