Fans of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition are having plenty of fun playing a nostalgic RPG with its many characters. Naturally, players are going to need to give their party the best weapons, especially for endgame content. Generally speaking, the Rainbow are the best weapons In Chrono Cross and players should be sure to save up enough gold and materials to make them.RELATED: Chrono Cross: The Best Party Members In The GameHowever, there are some weapons that are even better than Rainbow Equipment for certain characters. It’s going to depend on the decisions that players make because some characters won’t always be available, thus the weapons won’t be either. If players are looking for the best weapons in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, these are the ones worth looking out for or spending the money on.

10 Prism Dagger

Chrono Cross Kid Prism Dagger

The Prism Dagger is Kid’s strongest dagger and if players plan on using her every time she’s available, it is definitely worth investing gold and material into making it. However, Kid is unavailable for a large portion of the game, so players might be better off using a Rainbow Shell to forge weapons or equipment for other characters.

Overall, it might not be worth making this dagger for her since she’ll only be around for a limited time. That said, if players are planning on using her near the end of the game, then it’s arguably worth it. Kid’s attacks are a little above average in Strength and her Accuracy is pretty high too, so this will be a nice weapon for her to have.

9 Hero's Blade

Chrono Cross Prop Sword key item Hero's Blade

The Hero's Blade is exclusive to Pierre if players choose him as their guide for Viper Manor. To get the most out of this weapon, the Hero’s Medal and Hero’s Shield must be equipped and this sword will be almost top-tier. However, Pierre doesn’t have much to offer without these three items equipped, which kind of limits his use.

The Spectral Sword would technically be a slightly stronger option than this, but it gives a boost to all of Pierre’s stats and abilities. With that in mind, it’s best to leave the Hero's Blade equipped on him and give the Spectral Sword to another character.

8 Beta Carotene

Chrono Cross Janice Beta Carotene

The best thing about the Beta Carotene is that players don’t have to forge it for Janice. It’s found in a treasure in Terra Tower. The stats are okay and won’t offer much, especially since Janice herself has decent stats at best. However, players can disassemble this weapon to get a Rainbow Shell and use that to forge other Rainbow Equipment.

When all's said and done, the Beta Carotene is a nice upgrade for Janice if players are planning on using her. Her Strength is pretty good on its own, but this weapon, along with the right accessories, can make her a real powerhouse.

7 Pack Of Lies

Chrono Cross Terra Tower Pack Of Lies

If players are able to get Harle back or plan on using Luccia, Doc, or Sneff later in the game, the Pack of Lies is a must-have. Its stats can be a little lower and sometimes equal to the Prism Pellets, so players can save a lot of money and a Rainbow Shell

Only one can be found in Terra Tower, but it’s better than having to spend money on the Prism Pellets. Like all other Shots and Cards weapons, this will do additional damage to floating enemies, and the Pack of Lies also does extra damage to human enemies.

6 Floral Rod

Chrono Cross Razzly Floral Rod

The Floral Rod can only be equipped by Razzly, and is arguably the best weapon for her. It is slightly weaker than the Rainbow Rod, though not by much. If players are planning on having Razzly in the group, getting this weapon will require some decisions made early in the game.

Players will have to save Kid from the Hydra poison, save Razzly from the Pentapus, and not include her in the fight against the Hydra. Though it’s not the strongest, the Floral Rod is worth getting and will save players some money. Plus, it does extra damage to human-type enemies. Razzly is a pretty strong character on her own and this rod would be better for her.

5 Rainbow Rod

Chrono Cross Riddel Rainbow Rod

The strongest rod in the game and a great investment, the Rainbow Rod is something of a must-have weapon. Since Riddel and Guile are two of the strongest mage-type characters in the game, this rod would help them out a lot.

Razzly could also equip the Rainbow Rod, but her Floral Rod is slightly better for her. The Rainbow Rod is also one of the slightly cheaper Rainbow weapons to make. Even if players don’t use Riddel, Razzly, and Guile that much, it's still worth keeping one around.

4 Spectral Glove

Chrono Cross Orlha

There are a lot of characters that use their hands for battle, so players should expect to make quite a few Spectral Gloves. Poshul, Grobyc, Zoah, and Orlha are some of the strongest physical attackers in the game, and even slightly weaker characters who aren’t as strong as them like NeoFio and Draggy can easily become top-tier characters with Spectral Gloves equipped.

Draggy can definitely benefit from it since he has an incredibly strong Double Tech with Leah. Even Poshul and Orlha, who don't have any Techs with other characters, can become some of the strongest characters in the game. Both of them are pretty strong on their own and their Techs will hit very hard and weaken enemies greatly with the Spectral Glove equipped.

3 Rainbow Axe

Chrono Cross Karsh Rainbow Axe

The Rainbow Axe is top-tier and up there in usefulness along with the Mastermune and Einlanzer swords. Despite not having any special effects, the Rainbow Axe is very powerful in the tiny, strong hands of Leah, or those of the experienced warrior Karsh. Both of them have pretty high Strength on their own, and this axe will amplify that power a lot.

In terms of raw stats, Leah has the highest Strength among all of the possible party members and can take out enemies and bosses on her own in a short amount of time. The Rainbow Axe will only make her more powerful. If players are wanting a strong physical attacker, Karsh and Leah are among the best and the Rainbow Axe makes them even better.

2 Mastermune

Chrono Cross Mastermune Serge

The Spectra Swallow might be a little stronger (not by much though), but the Mastermune is Serge’s best weapon because of all the benefits it gives him. Plus, players won’t have to worry about spending a lot of gold and using a Rainbow Shell to get him a good weapon. The Mastermune gives Serge a 100% Critical Hit Rate and restores a little HP to him every turn. To make this weapon even better, players can get it midway through the game.

To get the Mastermune, players (as Lynx) must head back to Viper Manor in Another World and discover the note behind the chest in the Throne Room. With Karsh in the party, they'll then need to head to the Isle of the Damned (Another World), defeat Solt and Peppor, and receive the Memento Pendant. With Riddel in the party, they should then head to the Forbidden Isle in Home World, talk to Dario, and defeat him. After the battle, the Mastermune will be created and given to Serge/Lynx. It’s best to do this while Lynx is in the party, since Dario is a Black Element boss, and Lynx will fare much better against his attacks.

1 Einlanzer x2

Chrono Cross Einlanzer Glenn

Those who thought Serge would be the strongest character in the game should think again. With the dual Einlanzers, Glenn arguably becomes one of the strongest, if not the strongest, party members in Chrono Cross. These swords are extremely powerful and some might even feel sorry for the enemies that go up against Glenn while wielding them. Their Double Tech X-Strike will also become ridiculously powerful and a guaranteed one-hit KO for a single enemy.

To get the first Einlanzer sword, players will have to defeat Garai in the Isle of the Damned in Home World. It’s part of the storyline so it’s hard to miss. To get the second Einlanzer sword, players must not help cure Kid of the Hydra poison which will lead to Glenn joining the party. Players must defeat Dario in Forbidden Island in Home World and acquire the Mastermune for Serge. After doing so, they can bring Glenn to Dario’s grave in Termina (Another World), where he will receive the second Einlanzer.
