There’s already a big cast of characters in the Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. With so many party setups possible, players are going to need some good equipment and accessories to max out their potential in battle. There are a lot of accessories that players can buy, steal from enemies, or will be dropped from bosses.RELATED: Chrono Cross: The Best Party Set-Ups, RankedWhile most accessories are pretty useful, there are a few that players should make sure to get. Though most of them don’t become available midway to near the end of the game, they will be very useful if players play New Game+, which has some powerful superbosses. Some are even found early on and easy to get, and some can be found in multiple areas if players want to sell them for a pretty penny.

10 Forget-Me-Not-Pot

Chrono Cross Janice S.S. Zelbess
  • What it does: Memorizes monsters to be used in Doppelgang ability
  • Where To Get: Steal from Peppor in Isle of the Damned (Another World) and found in a chest in Chronopolis

This accessory is mostly to benefit Sprigg for her Doppelgang Tech and can be equipped for any character. If the character equipped with this lands the finishing blow on enemies, the monster will be added to the list of monsters she can become. It’s best to equip it on a character that players know they’ll be using a lot. Serge would be the obvious choice since he’s always in the party.

Also, the monsters that Sprigg can become will also be available for use in Janice’s Grand Slam tournament on the S.S. Zelbess. Players just need to win three rounds in order to recruit Janice to the party.

9 Sight Scope

Chrono Cross Serge battle
  • What it does: Hit% +3%
  • Where To Get: Steal from Polly on S.S. Invincible, and Steal from Cassowary in Shadow Forest (Home World and Another World)

This accessory sounds a little basic and not impressive, but it can come in handy. This will increase Hit% which is really useful if players want to do heavy attacks right off the bat. The percentage to do heavy attacks is usually around 65% at the start of battle so this accessory will help increase that percentage. While this accessory seems ideal for characters with high Strength, Riddel and Guile could also benefit from it.

Unlike most characters, their heavy attack hits all enemies, but it has a very high possibility of missing. If all enemies aren’t hit, their Element grid won’t open. Plus, this accessory is relatively easy to get and players can get it pretty early in the game. If players don’t want this accessory, it sells for about 350 gold, which is not too bad.

8 Earring Of Hope

Chrono Cross battle Serge Poshul
  • What it does: Increases HP by 15% in battle
  • Where To Get: Defeat Time Devourer at Terra Tower

This accessory has the highest amount of HP increase which will come in handy for characters that suffer from low HP. Mage characters like Riddel, Orlha, and Razzly usually have low HP, which might make some players hesitant to use them even though they’re some of the most powerful members in the game. The Earring of Hope can definitely help with this problem so players won’t have to worry about them as much.

The downside of this accessory is that it’s only given near the end of the game, but it’ll still be a good one to use during the final fight. Plus, players will have it at the beginning of New Game+ which is pretty good.

7 Defender Plus

Chrono Cross battle Flea Kid
  • What it does: Defense +3, Evade +12%, and Magic Defense +2
  • Where To Get: Chest in Terra Tower

A really good accessory that’ll be good for characters with low Defense and need it for later on in the game. Players might want to use it for mage characters like Marcy, Riddel, Leena, or Guile since their Defenses tend to be a little low. Marcy already has pretty high Evasion on her own, but she also has pretty low HP, even later in the game. Since this accessory increases Evasion, it will make it tough for enemies to physically attack her.

There are better accessories that will increase Defense and Magic Defense, but the Evasion increase is the main selling point of it. It can only be found near the end of the game, but it still comes in handy regardless. Plus, players will have a really good accessory at their disposal if they play New Game+.

6 Sunglasses & Moonglasses

Chrono Cross Termina Another World Guile Serge Leena Kid
  • What it does:
    • Sunglasses - Increases all damage done to enemies
    • Moonglasses - Reduces all damage taken from enemies
  • Where To Get:
    • Sunglasses - Defeat Criosphinx in Earth Dragon Isle (Home World)
    • Moonglasses - Steal and Drop from Harle in Hermit Hideaway (Another World)

These two items are quite unique and pretty tough to get. Both of them would be great on any character because the Sunglasses will increase all damage characters do against enemies. The Moonglasses will decrease all damage they receive from enemies, which is always a nice thing. It is a little hard to pinpoint just how much they’ll increase damage done or reduce damage taken, so players will have to look at character stats when equipping them.

Players will have a rare chance to get two Moonglasses from the Harle boss fight. It’s a rare Steal and Drop from her so if players really want them, it’s best to save before the fight. The Sunglasses are a drop from Criosphinx, who is a superboss and only appears after the Earth Dragon disappears.

5 The Colored Brooches

Chrono Cross battle Pip
  • What it does: Protect against Anti-effects and elemental Status Effects
  • Where To Get: Bosses in Terra Tower

The Brooches come in all the colors of the Elements and will protect against Status Effects from their respective Element. For example, the Blue Brooch will protect against Anti-Blue (which prevents characters from using Blue Elements) and Blue status ailments like the Flu and Frozen. These brooches will help prevent characters from losing the use of Elements in battle if enemies use Anti- Elements against the group.

Though they only become available near the end of the game, they are very useful at the beginning of the game if players play New Game+. There are plenty of enemies that will try to prevent characters from using their respective innate Elements so players will have great accessories at the beginning of the game.

4 Memento Pendant

Chrono Cross Dario battle
  • What it does: Magic Defense +4
  • Where To Get: Confront Solt and Peppor at Isle of the Damned (Another World) with Karsh in the party

Not only is this a key item for Serge to get his best weapon, the Mastermune, but it’ll come in handy against the boss to get it. This accessory is pretty basic, but it’s still pretty good for anyone who lacks Magic Defense and needs it against enemies and bosses who use a lot of Elements. It’s best to give to characters like Leah, Turnip, or Grobyc, who tend to have low Magic Defense.

RELATED: Chrono Cross: Things Cut From The PS1 Game

Any character can benefit from it and it’ll definitely prove its usefulness when going against the Dragons since they use a lot of Elements. Plus, the Time Devourer has some strong Elements, making this accessory a hidden gem.

3 Resistance Belt

Chrono Cross Serge attacking during a cut scene
  • What it does: Decreases the amount that Status Ailments last
  • Where To Get: Chest in Dead Sea, Drop from Royal Jelly in El Nido Triangle (Another World), steal from Solt in Isle of the Damned (Another World), and reward for winning two rounds of Grand Slam on S.S. Zelbess (Home World)

Any accessory that helps lower the time ailments are active is excellent to have on hand. The Resistance Belt cuts down the time for ailments by a lot so it’ll be useful against enemies and bosses that use a lot of Elements that cause it. It helps that players will be able to get several of them pretty easily compared to most top-tier accessories.

2 Power Seal & Magic Seal

Chrono Cross battle Fargo Cannonballs
  • What it does:
    • Power Seal - Attack +5
    • Magic Seal - Magic +5 and Magic Defense +5
  • Where To Get:
    • Power Seal - Rare Drop by Gizmotoids in Chronopolis & Steal from Tyrano in Gaea’s Navel (Home World)
    • Magic Seal - Drop by FATE in Chronopolis & chest in sewers below Viper Manor (Home World)

Two accessories that are must-haves for later in the game. The Power Seal sounds basic, but this accessory will give a pretty nice boost for any character that does mostly physical damage. Characters like Leah, Glenn, Orlha, and Zoah have pretty high Strength on their own so the Power Seal will make them ridiculously stronger.

The Magic Seal will obviously be great for mage characters like Razzly and Riddel along with increasing their Magic Defense, which is preferable because characters like them tend to have low HP and need all the help they can get to stay alive.

1 Profiteer Purse

Chrono Cross battle Viper Manor Another World Kid Pilfer
  • What it does: Increases money received from battles
  • Where To Get: Gogh’s Manor in Termina (Another World)

Players should get this accessory the moment they step foot in Termina in Another World. This accessory would be best equipped on Serge since he’ll be in the party the whole game. A lot of gold is going to be needed once the Rainbow weapons and armor become available and this will help give players a small headstart to saving. Those weapons and armor are going to cost a pretty penny and buying a set for one character will make wallets weep.

Plus, gold is needed to buy some Elements so this will benefit players a lot. It’s easy to get and has nothing but benefits for the players. Extra gold is always a good thing to have.
