Amazon Studios has announced that it will be dropping a new action television series that will be starring Chris Pratt on July 1st. The Terminal List stars the famed actor and will see him in the lead role along with notable names such as Constance Wu, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Taylor Kitsch, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Riley Keough, and Jai Courtney.
Amazon Prime's The Terminal List is a new action adventure series that follows James Reece (Pratt), a Navy SEAL who was ambushed along with his platoon while on a critical covert mission. After surviving, Reece struggles with conflicting memories of what happened and starts to question his culpability. It soon becomes clear that there are secret forces working against him that are endangering his life as well as the lives of his family.
The Terminal List is based on a novel written by Jack Carr. The series premiere will have all eight episodes debut at the same time when it releases this July, which is not something that Prime Video is known for when one looks at series such as The Boys or Invincible. Both of those shows released episodes on a weekly basis, which is what built the suspense on what would happen next for fans. The Terminal List, however, will be released all at one time and will see Pratt in a more grounded role.
Many are noticing that The Terminal List is Pratt’s first series-regular role since NBC's hit Parks and Recreation. The actor has been known to star in big blockbuster movies as of late, which is why many are surprised to see him returning to work on a series. Many are excited to see Pratt work on something grounde because he isn't new to working on action films. The Terminal List is produced by Pratt and Jon Schumacher via Invisible Productions. It's also produced by Antoine Fuqua through Fuqua Films, with David DiGilio serving as writer as well as showrunner, and Daniel Shattuck on board as writer.
Pratt has a very decorative career with television series and movies ranging from a wide variety of properties or IPs. The actor will even be starring as the famous video game plumber in Ninendo and Illumination's Super Mario movie. Hopefully The Terminal List solidifies Pratt as a contender for being one of the all-time great action hero actors. Right now, The Rock is known for having that title alone, but it seems more people are working towards that goal.
Should this series not succeed or meet expectations, fans still have a lot more of Pratt to look forward to since he is starring in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, Jurassic World Dominion, the Super Mario film, and a lot of unannounced projects. Pratt may also be working on lesser-known properties behind the scenes that many are not privy to. Only time will tell.
The Terminal List will be available on Prime Video on July 1st, 2022.
