Chivalry 2 is eagerly awaited by fans of the first game for bringing even more of what the first Chivalry was known for: brutal medieval combat. With development beginning in 2017, every inch of the game has been worked on, with the composer highlighting the soundtrack in particular.
While the premise is simple and arguably explored in a more traditional (for video games) way with titles like For Honor, Chivalry 2 commands surprising hype. This is because of the first Chivalry's dedication to bloody action and, above all, fun. Because of all this, players are asking a lot of questions about the game. This includes one of the most important questions: does Chivalry 2 have cross-play?
Is There Crossplay in Chivalry 2
It's a question worth asking considering how many different consoles Chivalry 2 is releasing for. With a brutal launch trailer showing Chivalry 2's gameplay, it's clear that players will soon have the opportunity to butcher opponents once again with several options for controllers. Chivalry 2 is launching on both previous and current-gen consoles, from PS4 and PS5 to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It is also launching on PC, and in answer to many players' hopes, it does indeed have cross-play for all of these consoles.
The devs themselves confirm this feature. On the official Chivalry 2 website, players can find an FAQ for the game that includes info about all the consoles the game will land on. According to said FAQ, there will be cross-play between all platforms. This makes sense since the beta for Chivalry 2 also had cross-play, and it worked alright then. Even though PlayStation consoles sometimes bar certain titles from full cross-play, this will not be the case with Chivalry 2.
It should also be mentioned that the number of players in a full match of Chivalry 2 is 64 players. With the game drawing that number from multiple consoles, it will likely not be difficult to find full matches regularly. Provided players know how to invite friends in Chivalry 2, they will be fine.
Finally, to accommodate players who want to play on a specific server, a server browser for Chivalry 2 is being added to the game's console ports. It's a much-requested feature that will allow players a measure of control equal to the PC version. Granted, that PC version is exclusive to the Epic Games Store for a year, but many players won't find this to be a hindrance considering all that's on offer.
Chivalry 2 will be available on June 8th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
