Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brought in Charlize Theron's character, Clea, who is set to shake up the world of Marvel later down the road if her character ends up being anything like the comic books. However, Theron herself is unsure of what the future holds for her character.

Doctor Strange is one of Marvel's strongest heroes and has become a household name in recent years. Doctor Strange has also arguably had the most difficult time in comparison to the other heroes due to how much he needs to do in order to keep the universe in check. The superhero sorcerer had a rough time dealing with the ramifications of Peter Parker's actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home and travelling the multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Doctor Strange also had to deal with heartbreak in his sequel solo film. The character had to watch his love interest get married to someone else, but in the final moments in a Doctor Strange 2 post-credits scene, the sorcerer seemed to be closer to finding peace until the dark book took its toll on him. Theron's Clea joins in out of nowhere and offers assistance to the sorcerer before bringing him through a portal. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Theron said, "I hope [the cameo]’s not it, but we’ll see, yes... I think I know, I mean unless, I’m sure they can change their mind, depending on what I say on this show! [Laughs]." Fans who aren't familiar with Clea share something in common with Theron, who went on to say, "I play Clea...and...let's just say I have some work to do. I don't quite know who she is yet, but I will."

It's always admirable to see the talent immerse themselves in the material with the character. Most of the time, Marvel Studios will recommend some material for the actors and actresses to do their research so hopefully, this time isn't any different. Clea is also a love interest to Doctor Strange in the comics and actually ends up marrying the sorcerer, so only time will tell if Marvel Studios actually goes this route, as the company is currently reorganizing its plans moving forward.

Theron is very talented and brings a lot of depth that the character will need. Most of the time it's harder to relate to characters with superpowers in comparison to a more human character like Batman or Daredevil. So with that being said, it'll take a talent like Theron to bring depth to Clea that otherwise might not have been present. What the future holds for Clea after Doctor Strange 2 will certainly be interesting.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available on Disney Plus.
