Following their MCU debuts in big projects like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye, Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin look to make their presence known in future stories within the cinematic universe, as Cox has now shared that he hopes the two characters eventually cross paths again.

Cox and D'Onofrio starred in three seasons on Netflix's Daredevil, which was canceled back in 2018. The last time the two were seen sharing the screen together, it was Cox's character who was finally was able to take down Kingpin once and for all in Daredevil season 3. Now, with their arcs seemingly concluded, it's unclear just how they meet again, but according to Cox, his time with crime and Kingpin is far from over.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter while promoting his new series Kin, Cox of course touched on his beloved Marvel role as Matthew Murdock/Daredevil, the blind crime fighting vigilante from Hell's Kitchen, while also adding when his character will meet Kingpin again. “I am imagining, I am hoping, that our worlds will collide again,” Cox said of his former co-star. “Because the stuff we’ve done in the past was tremendous fun to do, and he’s such an incredible actor. We have to start every conversation with, ‘What do you know?’ because you have to be careful. It’s really exciting. Look, I don’t have any idea what anyone’s plans are at this stage. But I presume there’s more for us to do. I know a little bit — not a huge amount — but a little bit."

D'Onofrio also expressed his enthusiasm for playing the Marvel villain, sharing that he is always open to returning for more projects if the opportunity was available. What will be interesting, however, is just how Kevin Feige and the rest of the team at Marvel Studios will carry over the more violent, rated-R style presented in Daredevil into the MCU's house style (which is better suited for all ages) if the two characters were to cross paths again. D'Onofrio already spoke about the difference between his Kingpin in Hawkeye and the one seen in Daredevil, pointing out the obvious difference in tones and the way the gore is definitely lessened.

What has been confirmed by Marvel Studios president Feige is that Cox's Daredevil will appear throughout many future MCU stories. Plus, fans will likely be seeing more of Kingpin wreaking havoc in the spin-off series Echo, which will focus on the newly introduced character Maya Lopez/Echo from Hawkeye.

Until they reunite, fans can catch Cox in Daredevil and Spider-Man: No Way Home and D'Onofrio in Hawkeye to see more of the comic book characters. All three of the Marvel projects that the two have shown up in have gone on to receive high praise from critics and fans, so whatever the next project they're featured in turns out to be, it will most likely be a good one.

Daredevil is now available on Netflix until March 1, 2022.
