Spider-Man: No Way Home was a big relief, not just for the fans who were dying to see the rumors and the growing speculation pay off by seeing the return of their favorite characters in the film, but also for the actors who had to lie about their roles in the Marvel Studios epic. Now, Daredevil's Charlie Cox recalls lying about the film with Andrew Garfield.

Spider-Man: No Way Home saw the return of three generations of Spider-Man characters on the big screen, as well as the opening of many doors for characters from non-MCU projects to join the ongoing cinematic universe. With this, many stars like Garfield and Cox were forced to keep any details about their surprise reveals in the film from getting out.

Promoting his upcoming series Kin, Cox, who reprised his Daredevil role from the Netflix series in a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, spoke with Digital Spy about the difficulty of keeping many secrets ahead of Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home's big release this past December, also sharing if he joked about all the denial with co-star/good friend Garfield. "Someone sent me a video… Someone had cut a video on YouTube of me and him, not together, in interviews and stumbling over questions, trying not to answer," Cox recalled. "It was like, someone had cut together a video of us going, 'I… well… I don't know. I can't say.' And just stumbling. Someone sent it to me. I thought it was very funny, and I forwarded it to him. But we haven't actually talked about it."

While Cox only had a small cameo in the film, much of the attention was on Garfield's return as the web-slinger from his The Amazing Spider-Man films, making it that much more difficult for the actor to not spill any secrets. Eventually, Garfield became used to the growing speculation, eventually finding enjoyment from keeping the fans guessing and knowing the payoff in the film would all be worth it. But now that all of that is over, Garfield and Cox are able to soak up all of Spider-Man: No Way Home's success, as the latest Marvel Studios film went on to break numerous box office records while also becoming one of the highest-ranked projects in the entire MCU.

Having Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, who both starred in Netflix's Daredevil series, make their MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye, there's no telling how many more characters from the Netflix series will appear. But what is known is that D'Onofrio will likely reprise the role again in the spin-off series Echo for Disney Plus, while Cox will reportedly appear all throughout the MCU moving forward.

Whether Garfield will return again as Spidey is still unclear. His performance was immediately praised by fans and critics following the film's release, with many pushing for him to finally get his much deserved solo outing with The Amazing Spider-Man 3. But while he continues waiting on a call to return, the actor is gearing up for this year's Academy Awards, as his performance in Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical, Tick, Tick...BOOM!, earned him his second Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
