Fiends in theworld of Chainsaw Man are devils on their last legs. As explained in the anime, they were once fully-fledged devils who, in lieu of impending death, picked a last-ditch effort to survive by taking over a human host — usually a dead one. They're not necessarily powerful though; in fact, a lot of them are unreliable fodder in the Chainsaw Man mythos.

However, there are quite a few who have managed to stay alive longer than most, either through sheer luck or craftiness. Some have died, but still managed to inflict jaw-dropping destruction or displayed impressive fortitude. Regardless, the following fiends are more memorable compared to others, mostly due to their abilities and their personalities.

Spoilers ahead for the Chainsaw Man anime

9 Power (Blood Devil)

Power looking pleased with herself
  • Appearance: Manga & Anime

She might be a fan favorite, but in hindsight, Power has yet to prove herself in the anime and in her fiend form. She's the remnant of the weakened and defeated Blood Devil, but as is shown in the series, the most she could defeat are mere zombies.

She has never defeated any decent devil in her fiend form, apart from the Sea Cucumber devil who almost no one fears and is thus weak. Worse still, Power has a tendency to lose her morale in battle and flee in the most dire moments. She's also prone to trauma, and often acts too immature and fickle. Thankfully, that doesn't detract from her hilarious personality.

8 Tsugihagi

  • Appearance: Manga only (at the time of writing)

Tsugihagi was part of Quanxi's female fiend harem, or as a more fitting title, Quanxi's girl-fiend. Tsugihagi's role in the manga was sadly too minor, and her powers or devil abilities weren't even displayed. One can assume that she's a loyal corpse due to her appearance and obedience to Quanxi.

In any case, it's hard to gauge Tsugihagi's place in the fiend hierarchy. She was among the couple of fiends that ran away from the Public Safety devil hunters, meaning she's not too far off from Power when it comes to her usefulness in battle. However, she did play a big part in triggering Quanxi's transformation into the Crossbow Devil hybrid.

7 Long

  • Appearance: Manga only (at the time of writing)

Long was another of Quianxi's girl-fiends, and she's at least one of the more useful ones in combat. In the manga, one of the few devil powers she's shown to possess was fire breathing, which was destructive and effective due to its size and range.

One can also assume that she's more powerful than, that since Quanxi keeps her chained up. She's most likely the fiend form of a dragon devil of some sort hailing from Chinese mythology, since Quanxi and her fiend harem are from China. Ironically, despite her name, she didn't last long in the manga.

6 Pingsti

  • Appearance: Manga only (at the time of writing)

Yet another member of Quanxi's notable girl-fiend harem, Pingsti is more of a logistical and strategic tool than a loose cannon. Like Long and Tsugihagi, her devil was never revealed, but she had a couple of abilities that proved advantageous to Quanxi. Pingsti's ponytail can turn into a magnifying glass, which can display needed information.

With this magnifying glass, Pingsti can determine which devils a person has contracted, letting Quanxi and the rest of her harem formulate a plan. Moreover, she can use her magnifying glass to translate languages and give out encyclopedic information, making her the perfect traveling companion for Quanxi.

5 Beam (Shark Devil)

  • Appearance: Manga & Anime

Next to Power, the beloved Beam is one of the most notable fan favorites, though the anime hasn't really given him much spotlight yet. Manga readers know terribly well why Beam deserves this spot. He's a lot more useful than Power when it comes to battle and actually aids Denji.

In fact, Denji would have died if Beam hadn't saved him many times. Beam's devil powers just let him turn into a literal giant shark, but his attitude and helpfulness have granted him a permanent spot in the fans' hearts. Sadly, manga readers weren't allowed to feel too much happiness, and Beam was abruptly placed on the chopping block to be turned into sushi.

4 Aki (Gun Devil)

  • Appearance: Manga only (at the time of writing)

As far as suffering goes in Chainsaw Man, it seems Aki received the full main course, since he was forcibly turned into the very thing he hated the most. Makima transformed Aki into the Gun Devil's fiend form in order to toy with Denji, but not before Aki lost his old comrades, the remainder of his lifespan, and an arm.

Aki's Gun Devil fiend form was devastating both emotionally and physically. He could obliterate a whole neighborhood block to shreds — citizens included — in a blink of an eye, much like the original Gun Devil. Ultimately, he was no match for Denji and Pochita, and their battle was a little brief, putting an end to Aki's ordeal.

3 Galgali (Violence Devil)

Violence-Devil-Chainsaw-Man
  • Appearance: Manga & Anime

Like Beam, Galgali or the Violence Devil fiend had a brief appearance in the first season of the anime. It wasn't until later arcs in the manga that he'd be given some much-needed interactions and a time to shine. As far as devil powers go, Galgali mostly relies on physical prowess, true enough to his original devil's name.

Galgali displayed the extent of his might against the Darkness Devil. Supposedly, the Darkness Devil is something even Makima couldn't defeat on her own. It also made quick work of Denji and Quanxi's group, but out of all the ones who were sent to Hell in the International Assassins Arc, Galgali was second to Makima in terms of damage dealt to the Darkness Devil.

2 Cosmo (Cosmos Devil)

  • Appearance: Manga only (at the time of writing)

Cosmo is one of Quanxi's girl-fiends too, and she's arguably the most powerful among the other harem members. Cosmo is the fiend form of the Cosmos Devil, whose domain is the fear of infinite knowledge and understanding. So all she has to do to defeat others is to take their minds to her own dimension and reveal to them everything she knows.

After that, the victim will be in an indefinite coma. Cosmo only used it once in the manga, but it was against the Santa Claus Devil, who was strengthened by the powers of the Darkness Devil. As powerful as she is though, Cosmo's infinite knowledge is a double-edged sword; due to the overwhelming knowledge, she's unable to think or say anything unless it's "Halloween."

1 Asa Mitaka (War Devil)

war fiend in chainsaw man
  • Appearance: Manga only (at the time of writing)

By far, Asa Mitaka is the most unique fiend in Chainsaw Man, and also one of the latest. Immediately after she died, she begged the War Devil to spare her, and the latter turned her into a fiend. However, the War Devil still regularly relinquished control of Asa's body and mind to its original owner, making Asa a unique fiend.

On the subject of her devil powers, the War Devil is one of the Four Horsemen Devils and is on the same level of renown as Makima, a.k.a. the Control/Conquest Devil. It's just that the War Devil has weakened due to the lack of wars and the Chainsaw Devil's erasure of humanity's war-torn history. However, the War Devil's potential is there and is just waiting to be fulfilled again. If that happens, she'll be the same menace as Makima.
