Cassette Beasts is a monster-taming game released in April 2023. Many consider it a worthy rival to Pokemon and sometimes even better than some of the recent Nintendo entries. To ensure that Cassette Beasts remained one of the best monster-taming games, Bytten Studio brought the game to several platforms and released DLCs, updates, and even crossovers. In March, Bytten Studio announced the multiplayer update for Cassette Beasts, which would change the game's entire dynamic.

Cassette Beasts brings a unique twist to monster-catching games. Here are the best creatures players can add to their early-game party.

On May 20, Cassette Beasts received the multiplayer mode on all its platforms. The multiplayer update allows players to form groups and explore the world of Cassette Beasts with up to eight friends, all visible on the map. In the online mode, players can engage in PvP battles with custom rules or team up for cooperative raids against Rogue Fusions. It will also be possible to trade cassettes when meeting another player online. However, this eight-player multiplayer mode does not include the campaign, but it's still possible to play it through Cassette Beasts' traditional cooperative mode.

Cassette Beasts Multiplayer Update Is Now Available

The collaboration event with Moonstone Island has also started. Moonstone Island is another creature-collecting game published by Raw Fury but has a cozier setting. In this crossover event, it will be possible to collect themed outfits from Moonstone Island for free in Cassette Beasts. Meanwhile, the fiery dog Pombomb from Cassette Beasts will join the roster of Spirits on Moonstone Island.

Some players may have overlooked Cassette Beasts. Still, the monster-taming game has already garnered over 400,000 players since last year, reinforcing Cassette Beasts as a fantastic monster-taming game. It was initially released on Steam, then made its way to Switch and Xbox, launching day one on Game Pass, and will have versions for iOS and Android on July 6.

However, Cassette Beasts is unavailable for PlayStation and might not be any time soon. In a Reddit AMA, Bytten Studio responded that Cassette Beasts is on PC because it was developed with that platform in mind, Switch because the Nintendo console is considered the home of indies, and Xbox due to Game Pass. PlayStation users might need to look for other monster-taming games if they want to scratch that itch.
