The latest good news for The Callisto Protocol players is that the developer isn’t done adding to the list of achievements just yet. Players can expect Striking Distance Studios to add a brand-new achievement in the upcoming Hardcore mode and New Game Plus update on February 7. This update comes ahead of a Season Pass content lineup the studio previously revealed for 2023.The Callisto Protocol takes players on a horror-filled adventure as they navigate Black Iron Prison located on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. The plot takes place in the year 2320 where Jacob Lee has been locked up in a maximum security prison. As inmates begin to transform into monsters, Lee must escape while uncovering the secrets lying beneath the surface of the planet. The Callisto Protocol has received a mixed reception upon release.There is good news and bad news regarding the upcoming update for The Callisto Protocol. For those wishing for more to do in the somewhat short gaming experience, unfortunately, there will be only one achievement added in the entire update. The only information known on what the achievement will entail is the name, gamerscore, and description. “Parole Denied” will require players to finish New Game Plus Mode to receive a total of 20 gamerscore points. The update will also be free to all players.
There is still a possibility that Striking Distance Studios will add achievements for the brand-new Hardcore mode and New Game Plus. However, it is unknown at this time what players can expect in future updates. Though there aren’t any other planned achievements at the moment, Striking Distance Studios has a lot more content planned for The Callisto Protocol. The February 7 update will also include an Outer Way skin collection. There will be an update in March that includes a Contagion Bundle. Last but not least, a Riot Bundle and more story content are planned for sometime this spring and summer. These updates will be available to Season Pass members.
Hopefully, the Season Pass additions Striking Distance Studios has planned will be enough to bring new life to The Callisto Protocol. Even those who do not have Season Pass benefits will have something new to look forward to with more hopefully planned in the future. Perhaps the upcoming content will be enough for the game to get a boost in sales, as The Callisto Protocol did not meet sales expectations with its 2022 launch. Either way, players are in for an excellent start to 2023 as Striking Distance Studios continues to affirm its dedication to the game.
