Activision continues to update Call of Duty: Warzone with new maps, weapons, and limited-time events, which are free to all players. 120-player lobbies are coming soon to Warzone, and the game's latest season, Season 4 Reloaded, saw Warzone players experience the detonation of a dangerous DNA bomb at the Popov Power Plant in Urzikstan. In Season 4 Reloaded's limited-time Mutation Resurgence modes, Warzone players may discover "Redacted" weapons while exploring the scene. However, players may need to adjust their arsenal, since various weapons were nerfed to remain competitive and fair with other weapons in the game.

Call of Duty: Warzone Leaker Reveals When Players Might Expect Verdansk Return

A Call of Duty: Warzone leak account suggests a potential release window for Verdansk, the very first Warzone map, to return.

Activision released a new Warzone update on Tuesday, July 2, with a list of fixes and nerfs for the popular Kastov 762 and Kastov 545 assault rifles, Superi 46 and FJX Horus submachine guns, and the Kar98k marksman rifle. Firstly, the Kastov assault rifles from Modern Warfare 2 received a bug fix that corrects the iron sight and misaligned Optics after unequipping the JAK Requiem Conversion Kit. A similar fix was applied to the FJX Horus SMG's JAK Scimitar Kit. Further, Season 4's Superi 46 SMG received major nerfs to its Hand and lower Torso and Arm modifiers, which reduces the damage modifiers from 1.3x to 1.1x. Kar98k's Arm, Leg, and Lower Torso damage modifiers were reduced to .95x as well.

The fixes applied to the Kastov 762, Kastov 545, and FJX Horus weapons were also applied to Modern Warfare 3. This means that Warzone players who enjoy Modern Warfare 3 can expect consistency in overall weapon performance. Warzone's Reclaimer 18 shotgun is still expected to be a top performer in the meta for both titles, however.

The Warzone meta will continue to evolve in the remainder of Season 4 Reloaded, and more balance updates are expected in Season 5 and beyond as new weapons are introduced. Moreover, Activision and Treyarch confirmed that Warzone support will continue after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 this October. More details about the future of Warzone will be revealed at the Call of Duty NEXT event happening this August, which will also feature plenty of new information about Black Ops 6.
