Call of Duty: Warzone's newest update changes things significantly for fans of the crossbow, decreasing the damage output of the weapon. The new Warzone update rolled out this week and also included changes to killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3, as well as various bug fixes.

In the years since its original release, Call of Duty: Warzone has become a behemoth within the FPS scene. Activision released its take on the battle royal genre with Call of Duty: Warzone in 2020 and, thanks to dedicated support and continuous content updates, Warzone brings in massive numbers of players on a daily basis. The success of Warzone has carried over across multiple Call of Duty titles, with the experience continuing with 2024's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Players are currently enjoying Season 4 of Warzone, with a fan-favorite weapon being considerably nerfed as part of the game's most recent update.

A new update is now available for Call of Duty players, and fans of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's crossbow will immediately notice the weapon does significantly less damage than it previously did prior to the update. Warzone's new update nerfed the Blastcap 20" bolts attachment, with the crossbow's damage being reduced as a result. Damage from stuck crossbow bolts has decreased from 200 to 110, and inner damage has decreased from 150 to 110. Outer damage is also reduced, shrinking from 50 to 35 points of damage.

In addition to these changes to the crossbow, Warzone's latest update also removes grenades from Gulag loadouts. Changes have also been made to several killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3. Multiple bugs have been addressed, like the stats for the I.M.S. streak improperly displaying in the Combat Record section of the game. Modern Warfare 3's Infected game mode has been adjusted as well, allowing survivors the opportunity to earn the DNA Bomb if they successfully manage to get a 25 killstreak.

Warzone will continue in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which was officially unveiled during the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month. While certain details had already been confirmed about this upcoming title, fans finally got their first look at Black Ops 6's gameplay mechanics, movement, and multiplayer modes. Developer Treyarch also teased Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, confirming the fan-favorite game mode would be returning to a round-based format, something that has been highly requested for many years at this point. Black Ops 6 releases on October 25 and will mark a big change for the franchise, with the game being made available one day for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
