Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software teased that Battle Royale lobbies in the game are going to be bigger soon. The announcement caused a lot of excitement in the Call of Duty: Warzone community, as players brainstorm potential changes that could come as a result of expanded lobbies.

Call of Duty: Warzone is the sequel to the original Warzone with a greatly expanded battle royale experience. Like modern Call of Duty titles, Warzone regularly receives new updates, content, maps, and balance changes each season. These Warzone maps include Fortune's Keep, Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, Urzikstan, and Rebirth Island. The game continues to evolve and change over time, with some maps being pulled out of the playlist to incentivize play on newer maps and modes during a season. For example, Ashika Island was removed from the map rotation on May 23, ahead of the launch of Warzone Season 4.

A new tweet from the official Raven Software Twitter account teases that 120-player Battle Royale lobbies are coming soon to Warzone. The studio's tweet simply reads "120. BR," so further details regarding the upcoming change have not been revealed yet. However, the Warzone community appears to be very excited about the change, with many Twitter users sharing their excitement. Some Warzone players believe that 120-player Battle Royale matches should have been introduced into the game sooner, as a few users point out that this feature was requested as far back as the Call of Duty Next event in October 2023. However, Warzone players are still relieved that 120-player lobbies will be coming in the near future.

The overall reaction to the upcoming change is very positive, but some Warzone players would still like to see some more changes, including the addition of the popular Verdansk map from the original Warzone into the current map rotation on consoles and PC. Ranked Battle Royale appears to be another highly requested feature from the Warzone player base. Once more, Warzone's implementation of skill-based matchmaking also appears to be on the minds of players due to problems like occasional connectivity issues.

Warzone Season 4 will begin on May 29, but 120-player Battle Royale lobbies were not confirmed for the season. Season 4 will still bring a slew of exciting new content, including Mobile Suit Gundam crossover cosmetics, Buy Back Royale Solos, and much more. Like previous seasons, a "Reloaded" update will also arrive later on during the season. The Call of Duty developers will likely share patch notes about upcoming balance changes and adjustments for Season 4 soon.
