Call of Duty: Warzone fans have always been quick to call out the game’s lacking updates, as frustrating metas and game-breaking bugs often overstay their welcome. However, it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone fans are over the moon when it comes to Season 3’s changes.

Developer Raven Software shared the patch notes with fans last night, and alongside major additions like the Hunt for Adler event and 1980s Verdansk, there are several tweaks made to gameplay. To stick with the vibe provided by the new setting, ground loot drops will be entirely based around Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare guns limited to loadouts. This should allow for more balanced gameplay going forward, though it is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to big changes.

First, the FFAR has been nerfed again, losing some damage and range. While the gun was already being worked out of Call of Duty: Warzone’s meta, it should no longer be bothering players. While the patch notes provide statistics like normal, fans like becausereasons11 have been quick to point out the new descriptions added that explain the reason behind each nerf and buff. This transparency and open discussion is proving popular with the game’s community, and many commenters are hoping the openness continues going forward.

This transparency saw a preemptive nerve to the Groza Assault Rifle being detailed. In the patch notes, Raven acknowledged Call of Duty: Warzone’s time-to-kill issues. Believing that the same problems with the FFAR would be seen with the Groza, the developer has stopped the gun’s rise before it could even take place. With NICKMERCS hyping up the Groza earlier this month, it likely would have taken the top spot sooner rather than later. Raven stepping in early has been received well by fans like IamEclipse, and it may be a good sign for future updates.

In the comments of IamEclipse’s post, players like tommyland666 can be seen praising the changes further, highlighting how different this update is from the ones that were seen as a "let down." With weak guns like the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War AK-47 and the Krig 6 getting buffs as well, there is more going on with the update than just nerfs. Further, the developer is keeping an eye on the AMAX Assault Rifle so that it remains balanced, something that should ease the minds of any concerned fans. Several bug fixes are also seen in the patch notes.

With the Roze skin finally being nerfed in this update as well, there is a massive amount of upside to all the changes. Hopefully, Call of Duty: Warzone’s future updates can generate the same level of positivity amongst the game’s huge player base.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
