Call of Duty recently teased the return of Fortune's Keep after sending packages to a handful of Warzone content creators, which contained models of redesigned POIs from the fan-favorite battle royale map. Fans suspected that this was a soft confirmation that a refreshed version of Fortune's Keep would return sometime during Warzone's Season 2, but this return is now a certainty.

Call of Duty uploaded a YouTube video showcasing the redesigned Fortune's Keep, which will return with Warzone Season 2's launch on February 7th. An official blog post revealed a detailed overview of the new map. The post explained that the Konni Group conducted experiments on Fortune's Keep, causing a massive underground explosion that changed many parts of the island. The new Fortune's Keep will feature 11 major POIs, some being entirely new and others being updated versions from the original map. The redesigned Fortune's Keep also contains interesting features like extendable bridges and a research vessel that floats off of the island's coast. However, the vessel won't be added to Fortune's Keep until later in Season 2. Additionally, Call of Duty confirmed that users will be able to play in a Ranked Resurgence mode on Fortune's Keep. While this is all exciting news for Warzone players, fans have plenty more to look forward to in the future.

When Is Fortune's Keep Returning to Warzone?

  • On February 7th with Season 2's launch

Call of Duty recently teased the return of the PDS Field Upgrade, which is now confirmed to be returning to Warzone. The powerful tool, which will be added later on in Season 2, allows players to become invulnerable to gas damage and visual effects for a short period. The PDS hasn't been seen in Warzone since 2022, so its return is a long time coming for some players.

Call of Duty also teased the return of the Specialist Bonus perk, which does not have a release date yet. This rare loot item gave users every perk in Warzone, creating a massive advantage over other players. However, Season 2's road map did not make any mention of the Specialist Bonus perk, so fans might have to wait a while until they see it in-game again.

In addition to the return of Fortune's Keep, Call of Duty also confirmed that Rebirth Island will return "later in 2024." This is obviously a vague release window, so fans of the classic Resurgence map could see it as soon as Season 3 or not until later in the year.
