Call of Duty: Warzone finally started to shake things up with the release of Season 2, and some fans are happy with the changes. Having a few new areas to explore on Caldera helps the map seem a little bit less empty, while the playlists for Rebirth Island have fans of the small-scale map happy. The Nebula V gas has been an interesting addition as well, as it adds a new layer to the game.

However, while Call of Duty: Warzone players will debate over how good the aforementioned additions are, one feature getting unanimous praise is the redeploy balloons. Like the feature’s name suggests, the balloons allow players to drop back into the map like they do at the beginning of a match. All it takes is a simple Zipline ride to the top, and then players are free to parachute off to a new location. With the response being so positive, Raven Software needs to ensure that this is a permanent mechanic going forward.

The Positive Response To Caldera’s Redeploy Balloons

As seen in the post from Twitter user @bbreadmanW, which sings the praises of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 2 update, the player dubs the redeploy balloons as “insanely nice.” All throughout social media and forums like Reddit, gamers can be seen sharing their love for the redeploy balloons. However, despite all the love the balloons are getting, it remains to be seen if they will become a permanent fixture of the game or be removed in future Seasons.

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 debuts later this year, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be releasing alongside it. It is rumored to feature a desert map that incorporates classic locations from the original Modern Warfare 2, and while many are pleased with the idea of a fresh start, it means that mechanics and gameplay systems will need to be reworked from the ground up. As such, there is a chance that the redeploy balloons are simply not brought over, coming at a later date or not at all.

This would be a genuine shame, as the feature adds a lot to regular gameplay. In Call of Duty: Warzone’s Plunder mode, players will be able to reposition to get to a money drop or unlooted area more quickly. The balloons can be used to escape from enemies or to reach a Buy Station to respawn a teammate, while finding a new landing spot after choosing a poor position at the start of the match is another option. The feature adds depth to gameplay, and if it was part of Caldera from the start, the map likely would have been received far better by the game’s community. As such, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 having redeploy balloons from day one would be for the best.

The other hugely successful battle royale games that serve as competition for Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends and Fortnite, have countless movement options for players to make use of. From Fortnite’s jump pads and web shooters to Apex Legends’ movement-based heroes and jump towers, similar games give players a way to move around fast. While Call of Duty: Warzone’s vehicles help with traversal, having another option is great, and hopefully the redeploy balloons are here to stay.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
