The Origin-12 shotgun is slowly becoming more and more popular for competitive use in Call of Duty: Warzone, thanks to the Call of DutyYouTuber Jack "jackfrags" Mason who revealed a new loadout for the weapon.

Since the launch of Warzone back in March, shotguns have been some of the least used weapons in the entire game. This is mostly due to the fact that they are just simply outclassed by other more popular weapons, specifically SMGs.

However, it now seems that the Origin 12 shotgun is making a rise in popularity in Infinity Ward's battle royale title. YouTuber jackfrags has shared his custom loadout build that makes the shotgun a more than viable choice for competitive play.

"I know what you're thinking: a shotgun in Warzone? Surely Jack, have you gone mad?" jackfrags said jokingly in his July 28 video. "No, I'm being deadly serious... the Origin 12 is my new favorite gun in the game" He showed off his loadout. "This is my build, I think it works great up close."

The loadout is designed to quickly deliver large amounts of damage in close-range gunfights. The FORGE TAC Impaler barrel and Muzzle Choke will heavily increase the gun's damage range, while also tightening the spread of bullets. This allows the player to deliver massive burst damage up close. It's also important to have "No Stock" and a 5mW Laser on the Origin 12, as these will negate the movement speed nerfs that the other previously mentioned attachments come along with. This also allows players to quickly strafe in tight spaces while still remaining accurate. 12 Round Mags will also be needed for this loadout, as it will allow for the player to chain together several kills without needing to reload.

This sudden rise in popularity of the Origin 12 has even made some players become somewhat suspicious, believing that perhaps Infinity Ward had buffed the weapon in a recent update. This doesn't seem to be the case, however. More and more players have begun equiping this weapon with jackfrigs's loadout, along with a long-range weapon to counterbalance it as it truly seems to rival some of the best loadouts in the game.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
