Dr Disrespect relayed his first impressions on the latest Call of Duty: Warzone update, commenting on the new map changes after his first proper hands-on experience with the altered Verdansk. While he only offered some brief responses to questions posed by his chat, his initial reaction appears to be mostly negative.

Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software has been building up to its latest update to the smash-hit battle royale title for some time now, with a zombie outbreak in the city of Verdansk culminating in a nuclear event that obliterated the city. The influx of players who logged on specifically to see the new event take place caused widespread server issues for Call of Duty: Warzone, stopping many people from being able to log in and causing crashes for others. Dr Disrespect wasn't immune to these server issues, having crashes of his own during the first part of the nuclear event, along with some server issues throughout his matches.

As the Doc finished up his first session with the new map, he responded to questions from his chat, with people asking what he thought of the event. He said it was "Ok," going on to state that "you could do anything with the map, make it different, and it'll be ok." Ultimately though, he stated that he wasn't "blown away" and that he "wanted a completely different map...wanted to feel like I'm traveling through a completely different area of the world." While the event does change Verdansk quite significantly, especially aesthetically, the layout of the map itself is relatively similar, save for a few new locations dotted around, and given that this isn't the first time Dr Disrespect has been underwhelmed by a Warzone event, it is perhaps unsurprising that he feels the same about the new update.

Dr Disrespect wasn't shy about his initial impressions, calling part one of the nuke event "extremely underwhelming" after dealing with the server issues and crashes during his Warzone stream, and taking particular issue with "mixed messaging on when stuff is supposed to happen," as the developers had to delay certain aspects of the event due to server load. While the Two-Time criticized the update overall, he did seem to enjoy the changes to the gulag, which has taken on more of a maze-like layout with the update, saying that he "liked it" and that "the ground loot is cool."

Despite Dr Disrespect's misgivings about the new Call of Duty: Warzone update, many people have enjoyed the rolling out of the nuke event, and the alterations that the new patch has offered are sure to bring back old players and bring in some new ones. Now that the old Verdansk is officially gone for good, the addition of new locations to Warzone will certainly change gameplay up enough for a lot of players, and the narrative elements of the update have been a great advertising tool for Activision to build hype over the course of the event. Most would also be quick to point out that while the Doc has made his position fairly clear on the way the event was handled, it's unlikely that his disappointment in the new update will stop him playing Warzone any time soon.

Call of Duty Warzone is available right now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
