The Call of Duty: Warzone community received a ton of extra content with the launch of Season 4. Although fan reception has been positive, the update came with its own set of technical issues during the initial launch. Call of Duty: Warzone fans are now reporting serious FPS drops within the game and are seeking a fix for the Season 4 lag problem.

Lag can often be detrimental to any online shooter, and in Call of Duty: Warzone, fans are struggling to make it through a firefight. From constant disconnects to in-game stuttering, fans are finding that a mixture of different problems is stemming from server lag. Call of Duty: Warzone's popularity puts a string on fan connections, and players are hoping the developers can alleviate this frustrating problem.

Reddit user Cheryvilkila is one of many users to highlight this issue online. Ever since the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4, the game has had major ping issues with ranges from 90ms all the way up to 699ms. Many fans believe the game is unplayable as the spikes mainly appear during intense firefight situations. Reports in the comments suggest that the problem is not platform exclusive as Call of Duty: Warzone fans on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC are all seeing the same lag spikes. This makes every combat a huge gamble, and spikes at the start of a round can result in an immediate death upon landing in Verdansk.

Fans in the comments have their own theory as to what is happening to the game. One fan suggests that the satellites crashing into Verdansk are causing the servers to experience massive lag as it cannot take the load of rendering the in-game effect. These satellites are part of the Call of Duty: Warzone Ground Fall event and fans have been tasked with finding the crash sites each round.

This is not the first time that Call of Duty: Warzone has experienced a server-wide issue regarding in-game lag. Technical issues tend to spike during the introductions of new seasons, and the developers tend to repair lag issues fairly quickly.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans are advised to report in-game lag issues online to increase awareness of the problem. The Call of Duty: Warzone developers are fixing several other major glitches across the game, but if players report lag as a bigger issue, they may switch priorities. Until then, fans can reduce graphics and adjust their in-game settings to try and mitigate how much lag they encounter mid-round.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
