Details of Call of Duty Warzone's anticipated Season 4 are finally here, revealing a brand-new Warzone map fit with a range of intriguing POIs.

The rifle has been identified, making it all but certain that the Kar98 will return to Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 4. In addition to the teaser, the Call of Duty Twitter account replied to a post from late March, where a fan asked if the Kar would return, given that a map from Warzone's early days had also returned. The reply simply said "K." The team also sent packages to Call of Duty content creators and streamers consisting of a toy car with the number 98 on it. The packaging also contained a scratch-off section that revealed the letter "K."

The Kar98 was incredibly popular in the early days of Call of Duty: Warzone, and fans would spend hours figuring out the best Kar98 loadout. A well-designed loadout would provide steady and snappy aim resulting in devastating one-shot kills for those who could master it. It appeared in several games throughout the Call of Duty series, most recently appearing in then Call of Duty: Vanguard, but it was the Modern Warfare version that made it into Warzone. After its removal from Warzone it was missed so much that fans began to attempt to recreate the rifle using different guns and parts available in-game.

Warzone Players Concerned Over Which Kar Will Star

While fans are excited about the Kar's return, anxiety persists over whether the rifle will function like it did in Modern Warfare as opposed to the Vanguard version. Fans have noticed strengths and weaknesses in each version, including the no-glint Kar98 glitch that was present in the original Warzone, but seem to be pulling for the Modern Warfare (2019) version. In a game where precise weapon tuning and loadouts can mean the difference between victory and defeat, competitive players looking to climb next season's leaderboards will be keeping a sharp eye on what version of the Kar98 returns to Call of Duty: Warzone. Season 4 begins on May 29.
