Call of Duty: Warzone is kicking off Season 3 with a special event that continues the ongoing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War storyline. Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Warzone fans are having a tough time getting their challenge progress to properly track in-game.

The Hunt for Adler event sees players searching for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign protagonist Russell Adler. With the CIA member currently captured by Stitch, an ally of the villainous Perseus, players need to complete intel contracts inside Verdansk to track him down. There are three different contracts to complete, with the items littered in three areas on the Verdansk 84 map. Each rewards an unlockable cosmetic item like a Calling Card or weapon charm, and finishing all three unlocks a limited time skin for Adler.

Unfortunately, players completing the Hunt for Adler intel contracts are struggling to get the challenge progress to track. While players can find the item and loot all three boxes, the event menu will still show the challenge as incomplete. Another issue related to these challenges is shown off by Reddit user burcinsarihan, as the player shows off their in-game map. While the image shows them hovering over Summit, one of the locations where the contracts spawn, the intel item rests outside of the map boundaries.

With some players being unable to complete the challenges, and others not even having the opportunity to do so due to the items spawning out of the map, gamers are understandably upset. Fortunately, Raven Software has updated Call of Duty: Warzone fans via the game’s Trello page. The studio is aware of “challenge completion not tracking,” with the developer also ensuring fans that it knows about the intel sometimes “spawning outside of the playable map area.” While a fix is being worked on, an ETA for a patch is not provided.

While this would normally not be a big deal, the major issue is that the Hunt for Adler event is timed. Ending on April 28, players only have a few days left to complete the challenges. As such, hopefully a patch or an extension of the event comes soon. In the meantime, gamers that own Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War can complete Hunt for Adler challenges there. Aside from some bits of missing text, the challenges are functioning properly. With players only needing to complete 3 challenges in either game to unlock Adler’s skin, playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may be wise.

For those that do not own the latest Black Ops game, though, dropping into Verdansk 84 is the only option. With some players reporting that completing the challenge several times will fix the issue, gamers may need to make several attempts unless a patch arrives.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
