The Call of Duty: Warzone meta has been dominated for the last month by the DMR 14. This gun came over from the Black Ops Cold War integration and immediately took over the game. Enough outcry finally led to the DMR getting a nerf and, while it is still a powerful option, it is no longer the only choice for players. Content creator and Call of Duty: Warzone pro NICKMERCS has created a loadout for the CR-56 AMAX that he thinks is the new top gun.

The DMR nerf was one of the most requested changes to Warzone in the last several months. Only a few times has the game’s meta been so completely dominated by one weapon. Thankfully, the door is now open for many other guns to take the spotlight. While many players are sticking with the MAC-10 for close range, the AMAX looks to be one of the best choices for longer distances.

NICKMERCS CR-56 AMAX Build

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Ammunition: 45 Round Mags

NICKMERCS uses the Monolithic Suppressor for the muzzle slot. This is one of the usual choices for most players, especially in a game like Warzone where giving away the player’s location can quickly get them killed. As for barrel, the XRK Zodiac S440 helps increase bullet velocity and damage range. This attachment does cost the player some ADS speed as well as movement speed, but the benefits can definitely outweigh that.

The underbarrel slot benefits best by having a Commando Foregrip. This attachment causes some movement speed loss but gains better recoil and aiming stability. Combined with the VLK 3.0x Optic, the AMAX becomes a perfect assault rifle to post up and take down players at range. The movement speed loss does hurt for players who like to rush in, but patient players who keep their distance will be fine.

Finally, the 45 Round Mags ammunition attachment gives players that final push for ensuring any target is taken down. This bigger magazine combines well with the better range and recoil to let players treat this assault rifle almost like an LMG. Players can use this AMAX build to shoot like an LMG but move like an assault rifle, dominating the Warzone field as they go.

Whenever a popular gun like the DMR 14 is nerfed, there is always an uncertain time in the game. There are now several guns—like the AMAX, M4, and Kilo 141—that are the current choices for distanced engagements. The following weeks will really let players know where the Call of duty: Warzone weapons all stand once more.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
