The mystery of the code-locked bunkers in Call of Duty: Warzone have been mystifying players for two months. These bunkers were found dotted around the large Verdansk battle royale map, though they've remained impossible to get into without using some sort of glitch. Even then, the secrets stored inside of them remained a mystery as glitching through revealed nothing. However, following the May 18 update, many of these bunkers can now be opened, save for one.

After claiming a red key card during a match in Call of Duty: Warzone, players can now access the many bunkers located around the map. With the card in hand, the light above the doors will show green, meaning players can get inside to discover the many secrets inside. However, Bunker 11 does not behave like the others as it is out of sequence with the other bunkers and even continues to have a red light display above it.

Naturally, this mystery has only served to inspire players to discover what's going on with this odd bunker. Without wasting any time, Geek Gaming Squad seems to have solved the mystery using a drone to clip through the walls and get into the bunker. Exploring the space has led to the discovery of multiple rooms including a big red button in what has been deemed as the War Room. Dataminers in the Modern Warzone discord channel have determined that this bunker has a nuclear warhead inside as well, leading many to speculate that the big red button could be what launches it.

The mystery only deepens, however, as another dataminer known as AlfaTheseus discovered additional in-game models for the RC-XD, a remote controlled explosive car, and a U-2 plane that resembles the spy plane used in Call of Duty: Black Ops. How these two items link up to the current game is anyone's guess, though it has led many down the rabbit hole of connecting the popular Battle Royale to this year's upcoming Call of Duty game.

The major reason that many players are now trying to link up Call of Duty: Warzone with a potential cross over or reveal event with Call of Duty 2020 is that evidence points to Black Ops getting remade for release this year. In a similar way to how Infinity Ward reimagined Modern Warfare, recent leaks and rumors seemingly reveal that Treyarch is working on a reimagined version of Call of Duty: Black Ops. With 2020 being the 10 year anniversary of Treyarch's big hit game, the time may be right to return to the era of Frank Woods and Alex Mason.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
