Call of Duty: Warzone fans have been on somewhat of a rollercoaster ride when it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons being added to the battle royale. At first, Activision said that fans would have to wait until Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 starts on December 10 to try the new guns in Call of Duty: Warzone, but then it added an in-game message to Modern Warfare that stated the weapons would go live on November 13 alongside Black Ops' release. However, Activision has since clarified the situation.

Activision has confirmed that the message saying Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons would be added to Warzone on November 13 was made in error. Fans can expect Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns to be added to Warzone on December 10 as previously planned. On the bright side, Call of Duty: Warzone fans can still expect Black Ops Cold War Operators to be added to the battle royale on November 13, so there will still be some new content to look forward to come Friday.

The addition of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns to Warzone has been somewhat controversial in the community. On the one hand, it will give players plenty of new weapons to experiment with in Call of Duty: Warzone, with players able to switch between their Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare loadouts. On the other hand, there is some concern that this influx of new guns could throw the game's balance completely out of whack. Needless to say, it's likely that there will be plenty of balance updates for Call of Duty: Warzone's new Black Ops Cold War guns post-launch.

Besides guns and playable Operators, there is more Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War content planned for Warzone in the future. Starting December 10, Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will be linked together, sharing a Battle Pass and other new content. Not only that, but Treyarch has teased an even bigger addition to the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 roadmap teases a "classified" Warzone experience that will be added to the game at some point during Season 1. Whether that comes on Season 1's December 10 start date or if fans have to wait a little bit later in the season remains to be seen, but more information should become available next month. In any case, it's been suggested that the tease is referencing the Alcatraz prison island, which will either be added as a separate map or as part of the existing Call of Duty: Warzone map in Verdansk.

Then again, the tease could be something completely different and unexpected. All fans can do is speculate until Treyarch provides more information on the matter.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
