The iconic first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty made huge news when it was announced that Call of Duty: Warzone would be free to play for all gamers back in early March.
Further takes on the battle-royale trend out of the Call of Duty franchise were a given, however, the fact they made this one completely free was a great surprise to many, with the mode even including free multiplayer weekends pretty frequently. Call 0f Duty: Warzone is full of class customization and other nuances that can really affect the success that you have in this last man standing mode, so it's important to do your research on what perks you should be utilizing.
10 Best: Ghost
Ghost is one of the best perks in Warzone if you are looking to get the drop on your enemies. If the perk is enabled, you will not show up on enemy UAV's, which scan the map and mark where players are located. Having this perk is key to surviving in late game scenarios as it will keep your position concealed from other players. Squads are constantly putting up UAV's throughout the entire game, which is why Ghost is widely considered one of the best perks in Warzone.
9 Worst: Tracker
The tracker perk has its moments, but with the limited amount of slots for perk usage, tracker is not a must-have. Tracker briefly shows enemy footprints on the ground, but at that point, you're most likely fully engaged with the other squad. Simply put, there are far more rewarding perks that deserve the slot.
8 Best: Overkill
Overkill is a perk a lot of people use in multiplayer, but it can be incredibly useful in the Warzone mode as well. Overkill allows you to get two primary weapons from the load-out drop, which will instantly turn you into a more dangerous player fairly quickly. Being able to swap between an assault rifle and a sub-machine gun or other primary weapon class is insanely useful, giving you more options at more ranges.
7 Worst: Battle-Hardened
Battle-hardened is not a perk you see many Warzone players using, and for good reason. The perk reduces the strength of enemy items such as stun and gas grenades, but those items aren't that deadly in the first place. It would be a better perk if more players utilized the things it protects against more often, but that is not really going to be the case in most matches.
6 Best: Cold-Blooded
The heart-beat sensor is one of the best items to use in Warzone, considering it shows you the position of enemies up to around 50 meters of you. Cold-blooded is the perk that counteracts this by taking your heart-beat off of any enemy scanning sensor. Players are always pulling out their heart-beat sensor before they enter buildings or new areas, making this a great perk to catch your enemy by surprise, especially if you are outnumbered. Pair this perk up with Ghost and you will quite literally become a "ghost" to other teams.
5 Worst: Kill Chain
The kill chain perk gives you a higher chance to get kill-streaks from loot boxes, which would be really helpful if you had the perk from the beginning of the game when you are first looting.
By the time you have your perks, you're quite typically going to be packing enough extra money to buy kill-streaks, which is why not many people choose this perk. The perk is much better suited for multiplayer, in which makes your eliminations from kill-streaks count towards your next streak reward. But in Warzone, it's a bit of a flop.
4 Best: Amped
Amped is easily one of the best perks in Warzone and should be in most of your load-out classes. Amped makes you swap between your two weapons faster, reload rocket launchers faster, and use utility equipment faster. Being able to swap or reload quicker than the opponent is something that will mean the difference between surviving or not several times over throughout the match, making this one a no-brainer.
3 Worst: Hardline
If the hardline perk is enabled, you will get 25 percent off at the buy station on most of the items available, such as armor plates, kill-streaks, and field upgrades.
With the new Season 4 update, fire-sales happen often, which greatly cut the cost of the items in the buy station. The perk was never considered very useful before the update, and by this point, it has pretty much become obsolete. This is another perk that is better for multiplayer, as it cuts down the cost of kill-streaks and specialist perks by one kill. But as far as Warzone goes, you've got much better options available.
2 Best: E.O.D.
Whether we like it or not, explosive weapons and gadgets are a big part of Call of Duty games, and they're just as important in Warzone. The E.O.D is a great perk in combatting against this, as it reduces damage from non-kill-streak explosions such as rocket launchers and C-4. Even protecting against fire, the E.O.D is a great perk and will help you survive even the most hectic of explosive-heavy battles.
1 Worst: High Alert
High alert is a perk that warns you if an enemy player is looking at you outside of anything in your view. A yellow pulse is shown on your screen, and in some cases, it can actually save you from being downed by an unseen opponent. However, this doesn't help nearly as much as some of the other perks on this list. It could also simply end up a nuisance by clouding up your screen, considering players are constantly keeping their eyes on you throughout the game, especially as the zone gets smaller and smaller.
