Activision has confirmed it plans to bring back Call of Duty: Warzone 2's popular solo queue for Resurgence following fan frustrations at its removal. It seems like Call of Duty players are frustrated and disappointed with decisions made by Activision and the developers of Warzone day to day. But it's rare for the company to then reverse course on these decisions. That appears to be the case, however, for the decision to remove Call of Duty: Warzone 2's Resurgence solo queue. In early Febraury, the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted that Resurgence on Ashika Island would support "All Squad sizes at launch." This did come to pass as part of Season 2 of Warzone 2, but it wouldn't last. Solo queues for Resurgence have since been removed, though it's not entirely clear why. The mode was available for just four days, leaving just Resurgence Quads available. For players who weren't interested in putting together a group to play Resurgence, there was a lot of anger and frustration.RELATED: Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Idea Could Stop False ReportsWithout addressing the controversy, or even what set off player frustrations, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has now reversed course. A tweet from the official Call of Duty Twitter account has announced that "all Resurgence squad sizes" will be returning for the rest of the season with the release of Season 02 Reloaded. Season 02 Reloaded is expected to arrive on March 15.

No explanation for the decision to remove the solo queue for Resurgence was mentioned, but there was a reference to it. After confirming that Resurgence squad size playlists will be returning, the Call of Duty Twitter account added that playlist and map rotations will remain "subject to change" based on feedback and internal data. That's as much of an answer as fans are likely to revive at this point.

While it's not stated explicitly, the message from the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 team appears to be that it saw something it was unhappy with when it launched the additional Resurgence playlist options. There may have been too many Resurgence players, leading to a disruption of the main battle royale mode's queues. Or there may have been technical issues that weren't otherwise apparent.

Ultimately, what matters is that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players enjoyed the solo queue option for Resurgence, it was removed for no clear reason, and players were unhappy. Activision is doing the right thing and bringing it back, but Warzone 2 players likely understand it may not be a permanent thing. Further, it seems that communication regarding certain Call of Duty: Warzone 2 decisions may not be entirely reliable or transparent.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
