Call of Duty Warzone 2 is out now, and with it comes a brand-new map with many points of interest for players to engage in combat. Set in Western Asia, Al Mazrah is a sprawling environment with many types of locales that will each cater to different weapons and styles of play in Warzone 2's modes and features, including special operations, 6v6 squad battles, Ground War operations, and massive battle royale matches consisting of up to 150 players.

Players who are already taking part in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will recognize several locations, as some Modern Warfare 2 maps are taken from points of interest on the Al Mazrah map. Points of interest are areas where players will tend to congregate for combat, and there are 18 locales that stand out on Al Mazrah, which is the largest map in Call of Duty: Warzone history.

North Al Mazrah

Warzone 2 Rohan Oil Points of Interest

Oasis is the northernmost point in the Warzone 2 map and features ancient ruins amidst the grass and palm trees of an oasis environment, surrounded by the open desert on all sides. It is an open area with not a lot of places to hide, so close combat skills will be at a premium here and campers will not consider the Oasis as their favorite section of the vast map. Of note in Oasis are the several pools of water, which will allow for the new underwater combat in Warzone 2, a nice feature in the midst of the desert environment.

Taraq Village, sitting just to the southeast of the Oasis, has seen the horrors of war and the environment tells the story, with buildings that are barely standing, rubble everywhere, and a general feeling of a once vibrant community that has been devastated by conflict. Taraq Village was designed with Squad Combat modes in mind, as the close quarters and tight corners all around the map encourage in-close battles between smaller teams in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Rohan Oil, according to Infinity Ward, is one of the largest employers in the country and gamers will get to see one of their refineries up close in Warzone 2 in a map that is welcoming to many play styles. High vantage points will make Rohan Oil a sniper's paradise, while narrow areas on the ground encourage rifle combat and will reward teams that stick together on the ground. This section of the map is a little reminiscent of one of the maps in Battlefield 2042, but appears to be designed to encourage a faster pace than Battlefield is typically known for. Of note in Rohan Oil are the living quarters on the northern and southern edges of the map, which will present an entirely different landscape within the same area, similar to the offices in the Santa Sena map in Modern Warfare 2.

Al Mazrah City is a huge area on the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 map, and will be the center of a lot of epic battles, especially in the enormous 150-player battle royale mode in Warzone 2. Players should absolutely expect to die from sniper fire at some point in this northeastern corner of the Warzone 2.map, as the sprawling downtown area is home to many rooftops for snipers to take aim. A nice feature that will play well in Al Mazrah City is helicopters that will hover on autopilot while the 4 players inside open fire on enemies from above, while on the city streets down below, gamers will try to avoid sniper fire on streets that encourage much more close combat and a lot of water in this area will amplify underwater combat.

West Al Mazrah

Warzone 2 Quarry Points of Interest

The Quarry is a huge industrial section of Al Mazrah that, like the downtown area, has high vantage points, tight spaces, and some water to give players a lot of options on how to engage the enemy. Multiple cranes rise above the rest of the landscape, and varying levels of elevation throughout the area allow players and squads to battle for the high ground in Warzone 2, giving them an upper hand in any engagement with their foes. A nice touch in the Quarry is the development team having much of the area being made with hand-chiseled stone blocks, giving the Quarry a unique asthetic that sets it apart from many other areas in Al Mazrah.

Sitting on the southwest corner of the map, the Port is the westernmost point on the Al Mazrah map and is the location where the Rohan Oil pipeline ends at the sea. Players that think there will be a lot of shipment containers at the port will be disappointed that a repeat of the popular Call of Duty Shipment map isn't in the cards for them, as severe economic restrictions have limited the amount of goods entering the country. Closer to the sea, gamers will find more wide open spaces and open combat, while further inland at the Port there are warehouse buildings that allow for tight corners and more intense close combat.

Sa'id City should be a lot of fun for Warzone 2 players, with multiple big locales that should make for some fun and intense combat. A large shopping mall is the centerpiece of this point of interest in Al Mazrah, bringing both long-range and short-range combat into play, while nearby apartment buildings will offer the trademark tight cornered interior combat that Call of Duty is known for. If that isn't enough for gamers, Sa'id City also features a minor league football stadium, which will have tight spaces in concourses and huge open spaces in the interior of the stadium that Call of Duty snipers will love.

Al Mazrah's Caves border the Quarry and sit just to the west of the more central points on the map, offering a sort of buffer between the chaos of the center and the fringe skirmishes at the Quarry. The tight tunnel-based combat will remind a lot of players of the intense close combat found in trenches in Battlefield games or earlier Call of Duty multiplayer modes, and closer to the Quarry there are some homes and a communications tower that reaches high above the rest of the terrain in this area of Al Mazrah.

Central Al Mazrah

Warzone 2 Observatory Points of Interest

Just south of Rohan Oil is Zarqwa Hydroelectric, an area of Al Mazrah that will have players experiencing multiple eras of design and construction all at once in the same section of the map. Historical landmarks can be found throughout the area, as well as the rivers that run throughout the town, providing its energy. Warzone 2's underwater combat will be featured here, and the industrial buildings found in the Hydroelecrtic section of the map will allow for interior combat and give snipers a place to get a good look from up above.

Just south of Al Mazrah City's downtown area is the Mawizeh Marshlands, the area of Al Mazrah that might be feeling the effects of climate change more than any other. Rising river levels have left much of the area uninhabitable, including the once prestigious River Diamond Luxury Resort, which now site underwater along with most of the rest of the town. Much like the Hydroelectric section, underwater combat will play well in th map, but players should look out for the floating garbage found throughout which has traveled south from the city center.

The Observatory will be the highest elevation point in Al Mazrah when Call of Duty: Warzone 2 launches, and that elevation means this will probably be the favorite location on the map for snipers. The Observatory was originally a map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 called Dome, and it has been integrated into Warzone 2 as part of Al Mazrah, bringing back a fan favorite in a new way.

Any players who have always wanted to be in a place that has both a monastery and a zoo will likely love Al Sharim Pass, which sits just south of the Marshlands. This area is another part of Al Mazrah that has a combination of elevation, water environments, and war-torn buildings, giving players of different styles various ways to attack opponents and build their Warzone 2 highlight reel.

Ahkdar Village has a large central courtyard in the middle of the area that should lend itself to player showdowns after maneuvering into position around the perimeter of the building. The marketplace on the western side of Ahkdar Village should give Warzone 2 players some cover to hide behind and the opportunity to take enemies by surprise, and will reward squads that coordinate and work together well.

South Al Mazrah

Warzone 2 Fortress Points of Interest

The El Samman Cemetery should provide for some fun combat with a completely wide open area inside a wall enclosing the cemetery. Advancement through this area might be slow with the constant threat of snipers and only low sitting gravestones to use as cover, but the openness of the cemetery could lead to some of the more interesting and chaotic firefights in Warzone 2 when players congregate here. Adding to the fun is a section where dozens of graves have been flooded by a collapsed water tower, adding underwater combat as another element that has to be considered when entering the cemetery.

Rising sea levels have taken their toll on Sawah Village as well, as the once vibrant village is now mostly deserted and submerged underwater. Fans will enjoy making use of a cargo ship that has crashed ashore and is the centerpiece of Sawah Village and one of the more interesting areas of the entire Warzone 2 map, as the village will offer tight corners, open areas, and underwater combat for all types of Call of Duty play styles.

Sariff Bay lies on the southern coast and is a large area with a downtown, suburbs, and a lot of shoreline areas with docks and beaches that give the Bay Area a lot of variation and character. There are small islands scattered around the bay and a modern resort that should make for combat similar to the hotel map in the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer suite. The tropical setting with islands and a lot of waterways in Sariff Bay are reminiscent of some of the great Battlefield maps set in the Pacific Theater.

Al Malik Airport is on the southeastern edge of the Al Mazrah map and is a recreation of the very popular Terminal map from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The map features open runways, a high tower that is approachable with scattered buses on the road to use as cover from snipers, and big Call of Duty fans will enjoy the Burger Town included inside the terminal building.

Fortress is the southernmost point on the Al Mazrah map in Warzone 2 and is an island with a medieval era inspired castle and city surrounded by an open road the encircles the walls. Vehicles will play a lot in this section of the map, both with boats to approach the island and helicopters to attack from above. On the edges of Fortress, some homes, businesses, and even a crab factory both change the pace of play from the enclosed castle and connect Fortress to the nearby Sariff Bay.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
