Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are receiving Warhammer 40K-themed skins sometime soon. The announcement comes after months of leaks and speculation around such an event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

In January, Call of Duty dataminers revealed an assortment of Warhammer 40K-themed content found within the game's files, such as new medals and loading screens. Many took this to mean that a future crossover event would likely feature Warhammer 40K as Call of Duty's next collaboration, and some dataminers suggested that the unique medals could signify a new mode that would be introduced alongside it. However, this remained nothing more than a possibility until recently.

Call of Duty's Twitter account posted a tweet confirming that a Warhammer 40K crossover is coming soon and will feature the franchise's Space Marines, Sisters of Battle, Astra Militarum, and more as skins. The tweet also includes a short video that shows what appears to be a dead Space Marine lying on the ground in front of the castle on Warzone's Fortune's Keep map. Call of Duty has not offered any additional details or a launch date for the event yet, but fans can expect more info to probably come out in the coming weeks. However, thanks to dataminers, users can already get a glimpse into what the event will offer.

New Additions Possibly Coming With Call of Duty's Warhammer 40K Event

Another Call of Duty leak revealed additional details of the Warhammer 40K crossover by showing two Space Marine skins being previewed in-game. The skins are surprisingly bulky and have a similar silhouette to Call of Duty's Juggernaut killstreaks, leading some to wonder whether the crossover's supposed game mode will feature Juggernaut-centric gameplay. This possibility was backed up by the skins' names within the files, which are tagged with "juggernaut." However, the nature of the unannounced game mode is only speculation at this point.

Supposedly, the crossover will also add to Modern Warfare 3's collection of blueprints by adding the game's first Riot Shield blueprint. Dataminers revealed the future Riot Shield's in-game look, which is decorated with religious, steampunk iconography and red-tinted material for looking through. Apparently, the crossover will also add a new melee sword weapon, the previously mentioned limited-time game mode, and new finishing moves. However, it's important to note that this information is not officially confirmed yet.

In other recent news, Call of Duty's The Walking Dead event is currently live, which runs until March 6. This one is much less feature-packed than Call of Duty's recent The Boys event or the future Warhammer 40K event, but it still allows users to unlock exclusive Walking Dead-themed items by simply earning XP.
