It appears that Call of Duty 2020, rumored to be Call of Duty: Vietnam, will bring back a fan-favorite feature in the popular Zombies mode, which was absent from Modern Warfare and operated differently than what fans were used to in Black Ops 4, Treyarch's most recent contribution to the franchise.

The feature in question is perks, or in this case, Perk-a-Cola, soda machines placed around the map in Zombies that grant players a boost depending on which cola is consumed. The machines were absent in Black Ops 4, with Treyarch opting to take a different route with Zombies. However, a new rumor claims that the machines could be returning in the next entry of the Call of Duty franchise, which fans of the mode will likely appreciate.

The leak comes from The Gaming Revolution, an avid Call of Duty player and leaker, and Victor__z on Twitter, yet another leaker that surfaced multiple details about Modern Warfare prior to launch. According to one of Victor's tweets, it's too early to confirm any solid details, the game still hasn't even been officially announced, after all, but there will be "good news" for fans expecting a return to classic elements of Zombies like Perk-a-Cola and perks like Juggernog.

Of course, none of this information has been confirmed, and while both leakers have good track records when it comes to Call of Duty, the info should still be taken with a massive grain of salt. The game is still in development, and things change pretty frequently. Black Ops 4's perk system got a mixed response, but it's still possible that the next entry will use the same system.

A return to form may be exactly what Zombies needs, especially if Call of Duty 2020 is the mess that some have claimed it is. And while Perk-a-Cola may come back, other Zombies leaks have hinted that it will be a departure from the norm.

Activision confirmed that a new Call of Duty will release this year during a recent investor call. Rumors that the game may be delayed due to development issues have been circulating online recently, leading to speculation that the game is in trouble. No other information has been confirmed about the game so far, but leaks detailing a game set during the Vietnam war have been fairly regular. It seems likely that will be the setting of the next game, but things could change.

Call of Duty 2020 is currently in development.
