Activision releases a new Call of Duty game every year, so it's not exactly surprising that a new game in the series is set to launch this fall. The game is rumored to be Call of Duty: Vietnam, which will boast a historical setting and supposedly be set in the Black Ops universe. While none of this has been officially confirmed, a new rumor making the rounds may shed some light on when fans can expect Call of Duty: Vietnam to get its big reveal.

This information comes from TheGamingRevolution, who is someone that has been a reliable source for Call of Duty franchise leaks in the past. Even so, fans should take this information with a grain of salt. In any case, TheGamingRevolution claims that Call of Duty: Vietnam was originally set to be revealed at some point in April, but that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has pushed those plans back a bit. Apparently, the new plan is to reveal Call of Duty: Vietnam in May, which is more typical of the franchise anyway.

While it seems fans will have to wait until May to see Call of Duty: Vietnam in action, TheGamingRevolution has suggested that some teases may appear before then in Call of Duty: Warzone. The Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale is immensely popular, and so it would make a great deal of sense for Activision to capitalize on the game's popularity by using it to advertise Call of Duty: Vietnam.

As it stands, there's very little we know about Call of Duty: Vietnam in an official capacity, but there's enough information from various reliable leakers that corroborate each other. The general consensus seems to be that Call of Duty: Vietnam is being developed primarily by Treyarch, which is focusing on the campaign, with Sledgehammer Games developing the multiplayer. As its name implies, Call of Duty: Vietnam will utilize a Cold War setting, and the game is set to launch this fall.

Beyond that, it's unclear what else Call of Duty: Vietnam will bring to the table. Leaks have pointed to Call of Duty: Vietnam having a Zombies mode, which would makes sense with Treyarch in charge, but that has yet to be confirmed.

If the leakers like TheGamingRevolution are correct and Treyarch is set to unveil Call of Duty: Vietnam in May, then fans won't have to wait too much longer to learn more details about the game and what it will have in store.

Call of Duty: Vietnam is rumored to be in development.
