Call of Duty: Vanguard is only a few days away from release. As the next installment in the classic first-person shooter series, the game looks to deliver exciting gameplay from the World War 2 era. Alongside new multiplayer modes, such as the tournament mode Champion Hill, the title features a singleplayer campaign set during the formation of the Special Forces. To help promote the launch of the game, Call of Duty has partnered with Mountain Dew to produce a new advertisement, and the companies have called on the talents of Dr. Disrespect to get the hype going.

It shouldn’t surprise many fans that Call of Duty would want to work with Dr Disrespect, as the streamer has a long history with the series. Since becoming a streamer, he has played many games in the franchise, and even now he often broadcasts Call of Duty: Warzone. Furthermore, he worked as a level designer for the franchise before becoming a full-time content creator. Thanks to his exciting persona and often controversial opinions, many people notice when the Doc does or says something. So naturally, his decision to appear in a Mountain Dew commercial promoting Call of Duty: Vanguard is a big deal.

In an October 28 tweet, Dr Disrespect shared a video of his performance. “Got it? Good,” he said. The commercial started with a close-up of a Mountain Dew bottle. While the upper half of the face of the person holding the beverage was obscured, fans of the Doc likely instantly recognized his iconic voice. After a brief moment, the camera changed to a larger picture revealing Dr Disrespect, wearing a combat uniform. This included a helmet, and the streamer also fashioned a pair of shades. He even flicked a bottle cap at the camera, cracking the glass.

While Dr Disrespect might have been the highlight of the brief advertisement, the video was also part of a promotion for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Until March 28, 2022, gamers can pick up specially-marked Mountain Dew products to earn double-XP codes for the upcoming game. This double-XP applies to Call of Duty: Warzone as well.

This isn’t the first time that Dr Disrespect has appeared in an advertisement. A couple of years ago, the Doc took part in a G-Fuel commercial in which he exuded his iconic charm. In addition to appearing in the ad, the partnership included a new G FUEL flavor inspired by Dr Disrespect.

This new Mountain Dew advertisement featuring YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect is another indicator of how massive his brand has become. Following this latest appearance, there’s no telling where the unpredictable content creator might show up next.

Call of Duty: Vanguard releases November 5 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
