Details regarding the crossover between Call of Duty and Amazon's hit superhero series The Boys have been officially been confirmed. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently in its fourth season with a fifth season expected to start early next month.

Call of Duty has been home to many film and television collaborations in the past such as Rambo and Ghostface in 2020's Black Ops Cold War and most recently Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's Shredder in Modern Warfare 2. This newest team-up with The Boys was originally teased as a logo appearing on the side of a building in Call of Duty's Season 4 trailer which had debuted at Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest last month. With Call of Duty's mid-season refresh being revealed, three characters from The Boys will be making their way to Vondel.

In Call of Duty's reveal of Season 4 Reloaded, information about The Boys' crossover with the multiplayer shooter have been detailed. Three characters from The Boys, Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir, will be added to Call of Duty by way of limited time operator bundles. Each bundle will also contain three weapon blueprints as well as weapon charms, loading screens, emblems, and more, and will be available to purchase for 2,400 COD Points. Starlight's bundle will be available first on July 12, with Homelander and Black Noir following suit on July 16 and July 20, respectively.

  • Starlight - July 12
  • Homelander - July 16
  • Black Noir - July 20

This crossover between The Boys and Call of Duty isn't just a cosmetic one, as Season 4 Reloaded will add a limited time field upgrade that players can find and use in Warzone and DMZ. Named Temp-V after the super serum in the show, this new field upgrade will randomly give the user one of four superpowers upon use. Charge Jump launches players across the map, damaging anything near the player's landing spot, while Teleport can dash the player forward, similar to Tracer's iconic Blink ability in Overwatch. In terms of dealing damage, Laser Vision lets players melt their opponents Homelander-style, while Electric Shockwave deals electric damage and can disable vehicles.

The temporary addition of Temp-V to Call of Duty marks the first time a field upgrade is added to the game as part of a crossover event. With Homelander, Starlight, Black Noir, and Temp-V mixing up the action in Warzone, fans of both The Boys and Call of Duty are sure to be pleased with what Season 4 Reloaded will bring to the table.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone are available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
